Our Mobile Medical Van (MMV) team is looking for a Mobile Medical Van Driver and COVID-19 Testing Team Support (Education Specialist) to join its team. This position will operate a 40 foot mobile medical van and support a COVID testing team (staffed by Harborview Medical Center) offering COVID testing throughout King County. COVID testing will be provided outside of the van. As the program is focused on testing, this role will be in proximity to potentially positive cases, but will have limited direct patient interaction.
This role is expected to last 6 months.

Work Schedule: Days and hours will vary to meet community need. Hours will include weekends. Shifts will be from 8 to 10 hours per day, up to 5 days per week, overtime eligible.
Work Location: Varied around King County, pickup and return van daily from Renton Fleet, or South Park warehouse location

Mobile Medical Van Driver and COVID-19 Testing Team Support will be responsible for the following:
- Driving the Mobile Medical van (MMV) between its parking location and the program's various clinic sites and supporting the testing team during the shift. The position is also responsible for helping to set up the van at each site, as well as helping to prepare the van for departure at each site.
- Supporting the COVID-19 testing team with: preparation of the van prior to the shift, driving to the site, setting up outside testing equipment, supporting the team during the shift, help with break down and cleaning and disinfectant of equipment and the van after the shift and driving the van back to parking with cleaning and closing of the van. This will include checking and filling the water and septic tanks on a weekly basis or as needed.
- Limited patient interaction including, supporting staff with answering patient questions, and guiding patients to appropriate outdoor testing stations. There will be no expectation of testing patients or having direct contact while on the van.
- Van sites will be at locations where people may be symptomatic for COVID or other illnesses, so there is a chance that the driver may casually interact with people at risk for or infected with COVID. All van staff will have access to appropriate PPE and will be instructed and expected to utilize it per CDC recommendations. Outside testing set up will include social distancing per CDC recommendations.
- Experience, Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills
Successful candidates will demonstrate the following at minimum:
- Experience and/or interest in serving people who experience homelessness.
- Possess a valid WA State driver’s license; with training, be able to drive 40-foot mobile medical van.
The most competitive applicants will also have the following desired experiences and qualifications:- Professional or personal experience in working with members of King County’s Black, Indigenous, People of Color communities, immigrant and/or refugee communities, LGBTQ, people living with disabilities and/or people experiencing homelessness.
