Nurse Staffing Coordinator
- Summary
The Jail Health Services division of Public Health-Seattle & King County is seeking to hire two (2) Career Service Administrator I (Nurse Staffing Coordinator) positions.
The Administrator I (Nurse Staffing Coordinator) will work closely with Jail Health Services nurse leadership team, and nursing and administrative staff to develop, update, and monitor nursing and clinical support staff (RNs, LPNs, CNAs) schedules to optimize staffing levels and ensure all posts and shifts are adequately covered.

This full-time position is open to all qualified applicants.Work Schedule:There will be two Scheduling Coordinators, and each will be working a weekend day. One will work Sunday through Thursday and the other will work Tuesday through Saturday.Hours: One will be: 7:00am to 3:30pm and the other will be 9:00am to 5:30pm
The work associated with this position will be performed through a combination of teleworking complemented with onsite work and meetings as needed. Employees will have access to shared workspaces at various King County facilities. Employees must reside in Washington state and within a reasonable distance to their King County worksite to respond to workplace reporting requirements.
Employees will be provided with a County issued laptop and must maintain a workspace with an internet connection (access may be supplemented in some situations) where they can reliably perform work and remain available and responsive during scheduled work hours. Please note that when an employee conducts work that is likely to bring them in contact with another individual, safety precautions are required, including the wearing of masks in some situations. King County is doing its part to reduce the spread of COVID-19 and remains committed to reducing our carbon footprint.
King County has a robust collection of tools and resources to support working remotely. The individual selected for this opportunity will be joining an innovative and progressive team that is redefining how we work as we transition to the department's hybrid environment.- Job Duties
- Maintain monthly schedules
- Initiate monthly schedule by populating Career Service patterns.
- Receive, review, and approve leave requests (vacation, pre-scheduled sick leave, and CEs)
- Enter approved leaves into Schedule Anywhere (SA).
- Enter charge nurse assignments into SA.
- Enter/adjust staff orientation schedules and other trainings into SA (i.e. emergency response drills, lab/skills competency, etc.).
- Solicit staffing to fill scheduling gaps, and enter updates into SA as they are scheduled:
- Agency staff
- STT staff
- Extra shifts/overtime
- Send staffing alerts, or otherwise reach out to staffing resources to fill remaining needed shifts. (Note: Nursing Sups and Charge Nurses will retain duties related to mandatory OT and critical shift alerts. Staffing Coordinators will send weekly alerts for regular staffing needs.).
- Enter all schedule adjustments into SA (includes changes due to orientation progress, changes due to mid-month leaves, etc.).
- Enter daily sick calls and/or other daily scheduling changes (such as overtime agreed to on that day) into SA to ensure the system reflects actual attendance.
- Enter post assignments into SA to reflect assignments worked each day and shift.
- Compile staffing reports as necessary.
- Support scheduling meetings.

Requirements:- Washington State Drivers' License or the ability to provide transportation to work.
Desired:- Experience with Schedule Anywhere, or similar scheduling application.
- Experience working directly with clinical staff.
- Experience with managing schedules in a healthcare setting.
