Nurse Supervisor - COVID Vaccine Program

High-volumeCovid-19 vaccination sites are opening across the country, and right here in King County, as an effective method for accelerating community vaccination. Public Health – Seattle & King County (PHSKC) is collaborating with a variety of King County Divisions and local area organizations to ensure a sufficient number of high-volume vaccination sites are in operation, particularly in areas of need like South King County. These sites are expected to be open six (6)days per week and to operate at least eight (8) hours per day, with the possibility to extend these hours/days of operation depending on demand and vaccine availability.
We are seeking a qualified candidate to serve as Vaccine Program Personal Health Services Supervisor (PHSS) in the Community Health Services Division to work for up to nine months to oversee COVID-19 mass vaccination sites. The Personal Health Services Supervisor is responsible for the supervision of assigned clinical staff and oversees the clinical operation of the site.
This position is based in the Chinook Building in Downtown Seattle; however, the majority of the time will be spent onsite at the South King County mass vaccination clinic site. This is a term limited temporary (TLT) or Special Duty position. This position will report to the Mass Vaccination Area Manager in the Community Health Services Division of Public Health. The successful candidate will possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills and work well in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.

- Job Duties
- Collaborate with site operational leadership from the Department of Community and Human Services (DCHS) to ensure coordination and role clarity across teams.
- Participate in hiring, supervision, and evaluation of assigned staff
- Provide ongoing coaching and performance feedback for staff.
- Identify training needs for staff and facilitate staff development.
- Lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of staff onboarding, training, and education.
- Schedule clinical staff and assign duties for the clinic site on a daily basis.
- Proactively manage daily staffing needs to cover callouts, PTO, other leaves, vacant positions, etc.
- Provide professional and technical support to staff and troubleshoot daily clinical operations at mass vaccination site.
- Assure adherence to infection control guidelines and appropriate PPE use.
- As needed, staff the vaccine clinic and/or serve as lead in various clinical roles.
- Conduct quality improvement efforts with team members and partners throughout the department to ensure a high standard of service provision.
- Contribute to development of protocols, policies, or patient materials.
- Participate in strategic planning as it relates to meeting goals for stable staffing and safe and efficient site operations.

Requirements:
- Washington State Registered Nurse License in good standing.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited school of nursing or equivalent.
- Proof of Current BLS CPR Certification for Healthcare Providers (Please attach if current.)
- Washington State Driver's License or ability to travel within the designated territory.
Desired:- Two years clinical experience (inpatient or outpatient)
- Knowledge of vaccine preventable diseases, immunizations and infectious disease management and control.
- Bilingual and/or Bicultural
- Knowledge of mass vaccination programs

Work Schedule: This position is fully benefited 1.0 FTE. The vaccination sites are expected to be open 7 days a week and operate eight (8) hours - 10 hours per day 9:30 am-8 pm, with the possibility to extend these hours/days of operation depending on demand and vaccine availability. The Nurse Supervisor will have regularly scheduled work hours 40 hours per week within this timeframe to ensure that a member of the supervisory team is on-site during all operating hours. Some evening and weekend hours may be required. May also work outside of assigned shift and/or location in order to meet operational needs. This position is FLSA Exempt and ineligible for overtime pay. This position is anticipated to end June 30,2021.
Work Location:
This position is based between Kent Public Health Center and at the South King County mass vaccination clinic site.
Telecommuting
The work associated with this position may be performed through teleworking with reporting to an office location and to meetings as needed. Employees will have access to shared workspaces at various King County facilities. Employees must reside in Washington state and within a reasonable distance to their King County worksite to respond to workplace reporting requirements.
Employees will be provided with a County issued laptop and must maintain a workspace with an internet connection (access may be supplemented in some situations) where they can reliably perform work and remain available and responsive during scheduled work hours. Please note that when an employee conducts work that is likely to bring them in contact with another individual, safety precautions are required, including the wearing of masks in some situations.
