Summary
Public Health - Seattle & King County is seeking to fill a Term-Limited Temporary/Special Duty Assignment Project/Program Manager II (PPM II) position to support the Communicable Disease Epidemiology and Immunization Section (CD-Imms).
This position is responsible for supporting the Communicable Disease, Epidemiology and Immunization section on the Youth and Childhood Immunization Program. This position will provide outreach, technical assistance and support to schools, child care providers and youth serving organizations on COVID-19 and routine child and adolescent immunizations.
In accordance with the King County Equity and Social Justice Ordinance and the King County Strategic Plan, the positions support and advance Public Health values for fair and culturally competent service delivery, innovative, effective and efficient application of resources, building a culture of performance and expanding opportunities to seek input, listen and respond to community members.
This position is anticipated to run through 12/31/23.

Telecommuting:
The work associated with this position will be performed predominantly through teleworking with reporting to office location and to meetings as needed. Employees will have access to shared workspaces at various King County facilities. Employees must reside in Washington state and within a reasonable distance to their King County worksite to respond to workplace reporting requirements.
Employees will be provided with a County issued laptop and must maintain a workspace with an internet connection (access may be supplemented in some situations) where they can reliably perform work and remain available and responsive during scheduled work hours. Please note that when an employee conducts work that is likely to bring them in contact with another individual, safety precautions are required, including the wearing of masks in some situations. Job Duties
- Outreach and coordination with schools, youth serving agencies, and child care centers regarding resources, guidance and recommendations for COVID-19 vaccines and other routinely recommended childhood vaccines
- Coordinating with healthcare partners, pharmacies, mobile vaccine providers, fixed vaccination sites, schools, and child care centers to link children and adolescents to vaccine access points
- Providing planning and logistical support for school-located vaccine clinics
- Responding to inquiries, facilitating meetings, and conducting presentations to inform partners of regional vaccination updates and planning efforts
- Coordinating with internal programs, teams, and task forces focused on youth, schools, and child care centers
- Supporting the development of messaging and communication to reach children, youth and families with vaccine education and resources
- Monitoring vaccine uptake among children, youth and families and tracking partner efforts to increase vaccination through vaccination events and educational opportunities
EXPERIENCE, QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS:
- Knowledge of school-based programs, childcare systems or youth serving organizations.
- Knowledge of domestic immunization programs and vaccine delivery systems, particularly school-based immunization programs.
- Experience in coordinating with school-based systems and programs, childcare systems, or youth serving organizations, with a clear understanding of how these systems interact with communities and partners.
- Experience coordinating with external partners and stakeholders, such as healthcare providers, school-based health centers, medical associations, or community-based organizations.
- Experience providing consultation and technical assistance to childcares, schools, youth serving organizations, or community partners.
- Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and carry out assignments and responsibilities reliably in a thorough, accurate, and timely manner.
- Demonstrated ability to clearly and effectively communicate orally and in writing with supervisor, co-workers, partners, and stakeholders.
- Experience creating and delivering public health messaging to a variety of audiences, including school systems, childcares, youth development sectors, community-based organizations or partners, or families.
- Demonstrated experience and ability in building internal and external partnerships with community organizations, including schools, childcare or youth serving partners.
- Experience and skill in working with diverse populations and cultures, and supporting anti-racist principles of equity and social justice.
- Experience working on projects with complex technical aspects that change regularly

- Public Health relies on office automation (MS Office 365), other web-enabled tools, and multiple large databases. Candidates must be proficient and comfortable with computer use to perform essential functions of the position.

- Master's degree in public health, or related field OR any equivalent combination of experience and education which provides the applicant with the skills, knowledge and abilities required to perform the work.
- Experience with or knowledge of vaccine preventable disease and disease control measures, particularly how to communicate orally and in writing about these diseases and their corresponding prevention measures to a variety of audiences.
- Experience with or knowledge of COVID-19 vaccination programs and/or prevention measures, specifically how to communicate orally and in writing about COVID-19 and associated prevention measures.
- Knowledge of vaccine hesitancy and experience developing messaging to address concerns about vaccines.
- Experience in interpreting guidance and adapting the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), WA Department of Health (DOH), or Public Health - Seattle & King County (PHSKC) public health guidance to various settings.
- Demonstrated ability to learn and comprehend new and complex bodies of knowledge efficiently.
