- Summary
We have one opening for a Project/Program Manager II role within the Immunization Program for the Communicable Disease Epidemiology and Immunization Section (CD IMMS). This position will support and coordinate COVID-19 vaccination and outreach efforts for Special Populations (primarily seniors, people living in long term care settings, people with disabilities, and people who are pregnant).
This position works collaboratively with the Section’s other Immunization Team staff, Program Leads, Program Managers, Analytics and Informatics Team, Medical Epidemiologists, and Administration Team.

- Coordinating with internal workgroups, medical and professional associations, and Washington state partners on vaccine planning, implementation, and outreach to long-term care facilities, congregate living settings, and housing sites that high risk and vulnerable populations reside
- Responding to inquiries, facilitating meetings, and conducting presentations to inform partners of regional vaccination planning for seniors and people with disabilities
- Make contacts with management of Long Term Care Facilities, especially adult family homes and supported living agencies. Engage these managers in discussions about their plans to vaccinate their staff and residents. Gather data on current vaccination rates. Facilitate contact between LTCFs and pharmacy partners or community partners if needed.
- Work closely with the CD IMMS Section’s COVID-19 investigations team to identify facilities with active or recent outbreaks. Follow up and arrange any necessary vaccinations.
- Using state claims data, identify residents who received their initial vaccine from our homebound program AND who are likely to qualify for an additional dose (due to immune dysfunction). Evaluate options for outreach.
- Separately, using state claims data, identify residents whose claims history indicates a possible need for in-home vaccination. Evaluate options for outreach.
- Serve as program coordinator for the homebound vaccine program. Track request volumes and appointment scheduling turnaround times. Facilitate relationships between the PICC and our vaccination partners. Flag any issues for program lead.

- Demonstrated ability to clearly and effectively communicate orally and in writing with supervisor, co-workers, partners, and stakeholders
- Experience and skill in working with diverse populations and cultures
- Experience working on projects with complex technical aspects that change regularly
- Experience using process metrics to inform the success of the program and make adaptations as needed
- Demonstrated good judgement and comfort in making independent decisions, while understanding limitations and elevating as needed in the absence of information
- Effectively manage multiple competing priorities and projects under a rapidly changing environment, with the ability to plan and prioritize effectively in this environment
- Public Health relies on office automation (MS Office 365), other web-enabled tools, and multiple large databases. Candidates must be proficient and comfortable with compute use to perform essential functions of the position
Desired Qualifications:- Experience with vaccine-preventable disease and disease control measures, including COVID-19
- Knowledge of the long-term care sector, healthcare sector, older adult populations, or programs that serve people with disabilities
- Master’s degree in public health, or related field, or similar work experience or training
- Comprehension of communicable disease epidemiology, prevention, investigations, disease control, medical countermeasures, and pandemic preparedness
- Experience in interpreting guidance and adapting the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), WA Department of Health (DOH), or Public Health - Seattle & King County (PHSKC) guidance to various settings
- Demonstrated ability to learn and comprehend new and complex bodies of knowledge efficiently

Work Schedule
Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week, with the ability to work occasional evenings and weekends as needed. The duration of this Special Duty/Term-Limited Temporary position is through June 30, 2022, with the possibility of extension, dependent upon funding availability.
Work Location:The home base for this position is Chinook Building located in Downtown Seattle, Chinook Building, 401 5th Ave., Seattle. This position will have a some remote work and some in office as needed.
Telecommuting
Some of the work associated with this position will be performed predominantly through teleworking with reporting to office location and to meetings as needed. Employees will have access to shared workspaces at various King County facilities. Employees must reside in Washington state and within a reasonable distance to their King County worksite to respond to workplace reporting requirements.
Employees will be provided with a County issued laptop and must maintain a workspace with an internet connection (access may be supplemented in some situations) where they can reliably perform work and remain available and responsive during scheduled work hours. Please note that when an employee conducts work that is likely to bring them in contact with another individual, safety precautions are required, including the wearing of masks in some situations. King County is doing its part to reduce the spread of COVID-19 and remains committed to reducing our carbon footprint.
