Project/Program Manager II - TB

The Tuberculosis Program at Public Health – Seattle & King County is seeking a dynamic Project/ Program Manager (PPM) II to support the Community TB Prevention Manager and join a multifaceted team to make a difference in the community by helping to treat and eliminate TB. The TB Program works in conjunction with other local health jurisdictions in Washington state to ensure our underserved population has access to treatment and works to remove barriers for individuals with TB or LTBI to receive care. This position will work with Community Prevention staff, surveillance staff, clinical staff, Disease Control Officer, and Health Services Administrator. This is a career service position that reports to the Community TB Prevention Manager (PPMIII).

- Conduct outreach with healthcare providers and their organizations related to LTBI education and guidance
- Coordinating with healthcare partners, pharmacies, and other organizations to streamline LTBI services
- Overseeing and responding to LTBI related questions and triaging to the appropriate person when necessary (i.e. nurse, epidemiologist, etc.)
- Contributing to grant writing to fund initiatives to reduce barriers to testing, treating, and reporting of LTBI
- Responding to inquiries, facilitating meetings, and conducting presentations to inform partners of latent TB updates
- Coordinating with internal programs, teams, and task forces focused on engagement with providers who serve communities at higher risk for TB infection
- Engaging with internal and external partners about LTBI reporting
- Supporting the development of messaging and communication to reach communities at higher risk of TB infection
- Facilitating and building capacity of stakeholders to share information about LTBI
- Researching and conducting outreach to inform innovative ways to provide LTBI services and engage communities
- Managing texting outreach and conducting evaluations to assess treatment initiation and completion
- Monitor scope, schedule, and budget of contract or project and report results
- Assist with budget development by developing budget components for projects or unit
- Perform data analysis independently or as assigned
- Produce monthly/quarterly work program or budget reports
- Write reports or issue papers summarizing analysis or research
- Serve on inter-jurisdictional committees and/ or coalitions
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Experience, Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills
- Experience coordinating with external partners and stakeholders, such as healthcare providers, medical associations, or community-based organizations
- Demonstrated ability to provide consultation and technical assistance to providers and community partners
- Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and carry out assignments and responsibilities reliably in a thorough, accurate, and timely manner
- Demonstrated ability to clearly and effectively communicate orally and in writing with supervisor, co-workers, partners, and stakeholders
- Experience creating and delivering public health messaging to a variety of audiences.
- Demonstrated experience and ability in building internal and external partnerships with providers and community organizations.
- Experience and skill in working with diverse populations and cultures, and supporting anti-racist principles of equity and social justice
- Experience using process metrics to inform the success of the program and make adaptations as needed
- Must display good judgement and comfort in making independent decisions, while understanding limitations and elevating as needed in the absence of information
- Effectively manage multiple competing priorities and projects under a rapidly changing environment, with the ability to plan and prioritize effectively in this environment
- Public Health relies on office automation (MS Office 365), other web-enabled tools, and multiple large databases. Candidates must be proficient and comfortable with compute use to perform essential functions of the position
- Experience with or knowledge of latent tuberculosis infection (LTBI), particularly how to communicate orally and in writing about it to a variety of audiences.
- Knowledge of barriers to LTBI care and experience addressing those barriers.
- Background in public health, health education, health services, or related field
- Experience in a local or state public health setting
- Two or more year of TB experience
- Knowledge of project management principles
- Demonstrated ability to learn and comprehend new and complex bodies of knowledge efficiently
- Skill in working effectively as a team member to coordinate accomplishment of specific tasks

Work Schedule
The individual selected for this position will have a work schedule typically between the hours 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. This position FLSA Non-Exempt and is eligible for overtime.
Work Location
The home base for this position is Harborview Medical Center located in Downtown Seattle. This position will predominantly telecommute.
Telecommuting
The work associated with this position will be performed predominantly through teleworking with reporting to office location and to meetings as needed. Employees will have access to shared workspaces at various King County facilities. Employees must reside in Washington state and within a reasonable distance to their King County worksite to respond to workplace reporting requirements.
Employees will be provided with a County issued laptop and must maintain a workspace with an internet connection (access may be supplemented in some situations) where they can reliably perform work and remain available and responsive during scheduled work hours. Please note that when an employee conducts work that is likely to bring them in contact with another individual, safety precautions are required, including the wearing of masks in some situations. King County is doing its part to reduce the spread of COVID-19 and remains committed to reducing our carbon footprint.
