Downtown Public Health Center is hiring a Public Health Administrative Support Supervisor (PHASS) for our Primary Care and Refugee Clinics. Downtown Public Health Center serves a diverse low-income population of children and adults, including people who are experiencing homelessness, recent immigrants and refugees, people with complex health conditions, and people with limited English proficiency.
We're interested in individuals who are representative of the diverse population we serve. This is an opportunity to lead an amazing multi-disciplinary team whose passion is to support our community through Primary Care and our Refugee Clinic and to work as a partner with the Swedish Residency Program. You'll have overall responsibility for the hiring and daily supervision of a team that may include Administrative Specialist II-III’s and Interpreters, including implementation and monitoring of clinic standards. In addition, you will be a key member of a unified leadership team to provide the highest quality of integrated care for our clients.

While this position will be based at the Downtown Public Health Center, the incumbent may need to travel occasionally to other sites for meetings and trainings and may be asked to work occasionally at other sites. This is not a telecommuting position- the selected will be required to work onsite 100% of the time.

- Direct supervision of the staff which includes hiring, performance evaluations, training development and performance management, counseling, team building and discipline of staff. Manage personnel issues for assigned staff. Assure the processing of personnel and payroll actions in compliance with established policies, procedures, and/or regulations.
- Lead program planning, implementation, coordination, and evaluation. Supervise business practice support activities. Assure quality standards are met for complex administrative support services, customer care, and compliance with business practice policies and procedures. This includes front desk operations, client registration, health insurance enrollment and billing, schedule management, appointment making, coordination of interpretive services, problem solving in difficult situations involving clients, oversight of medical records system.
- Promote and sponsor quality improvement of practices that support efficient delivery of Public Health site administrative services.
- Develop meeting agendas and facilitate effective team meetings
- Guide staff and lead activities at Public Health Centers and other community locations
- Work collaboratively with the community and other agencies to assess the public's needs, develop program goals and objectives
- Provide backup to other supervisors as needed within Downtown Public Health Clinic
- Participate as a member of the site management team in maintaining day-to-day operations of services and safety of staff and patients at the Downtown Public Health Center. Active member of the Safety Committee

Work location: This position will work onsite at the Downtown Public Health Center, 2124 4th Avenue, Seattle, WA 98121. None of the work associated with this position will be performed via telecommuting.
Work schedule: Hours worked will fall within Downtown Public Health's normal business hours, which are Monday through Friday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. This position is subject to the Fair Labor Standards Act and is overtime eligible.
