- Summary
The King County’s Facilities Management Division (FMD), Real Estate Services Section, is looking for a real estate professional proficient in all areas of the public agency real property inventory process. This position will support the section’s real property control and management operations and have responsibility for day-to-day inventory activities for all King County owned real property interests.
ABOUT THE FACILITIES MANAGEMENT DIVISION:
Through a workforce of over 300 dedicated employees, the FMD operates and manages the County’s capital assets by developing and maintaining cost-conscious, sustainable, high-quality facilities, and environments. The Real Estate Services Section implements policy direction on real estate matters including leasing, sales, acquisitions, permitting, and franchises.

- Job Duties
In order to be considered for this exciting opportunity, the successful candidate at minimum will demonstrate skill and ability to:
- Gather real property records on-line and from paper based files, as well as other related real property data;
- Evaluate real estate-related documents, including deeds, easements, surveys, and maps;
- Serve as the primary point of contact for Real Estate Services real property inventory and ensure that required procedures for real property transactions have been met.
- Perform real property research;
- Prepare reports, spreadsheets, and memos to distribute real property inventory information within Real Estate Services and to other county agencies;
- Recognize property inventory issues and anomalies and direct them to appropriate staff for resolution;
- Maintain records of real-estate related transactions, documents, and files;
- Convert paper documentation to digital format;
- Read and interpret legal descriptions;
- Experience, Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills
OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
- Demonstrated real property inventory experience, including right-of-way and fee properties;
- Ability to research, read, and summarize deeds, easements, licenses, property drawings, right-of-way plans;
- Ability to interpret maps, surveys, property restrictions, and specifications;
- In-depth knowledge of legal terminology related to land acquisition and skill in reading, interpreting, and writing legal descriptions;
- Advanced skills and knowledge in data management technology and procedures;
- Knowledge of real estate practices specific to Washington public agencies;
- Knowledge in determining property valuations.
- Strong communication, writing, problem-solving, analytical, and investigative research skills.
- Valid Washington State Driver’s License
We’d love it if you have:- Formal education in real estate or real property title practices
- Knowledge and skill using GIS for property records research and maintenance
- Skill in variety of research methods, particularly internet, courthouse, and recorded documents
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365
- Electronic document management experience – especially conversion from paper to digital
