The King County Records Center is a work group within King County's Department of Executive Services: Records and Licensing Division/ Archives, Records Management and Mail Services Section dedicated to the secure storage and protection of King County Public Records for the benefit of the citizenry of King County.
The Records Center Technician position requires a detail-oriented individual possessing a strong work ethic, dedicated to excellent customer service and teamwork. This position will provide general warehouse and clerical support to internal King County customers.

SCOPE OF JOB DUTIES: To be considered for this opportunity, you must at a minimum, demonstrate knowledge, skill and ability to:- Prepare public records for delivery to locations throughout King County;
- Use computer automated records management system to generate a pulls lists for daily public records retrievals;
- Schedule and complete pickup of records approved for inactive records storage;
- Use the computer automated records management system to process and shelve new boxes using barcode scanning technology and data entry to inventory and account for box warehouse location;
- Pull and palletize boxes identified for disposition from warehouse shelving locations;
- Perform physical inventory of Records Center holdings;
- Monitor the Records Center facility and equipment for cleanness, functionally;
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Are knowledgeable of records management theories and practices;
- Are familiar with the Microsoft Office products, HP Records Manager or similar software application used for either records management or inventory control;
- Are very detail oriented;
- Have basic clerical skills including numerical and alphabetical filing systems;
- Have working knowledge of inventory management techniques and principles;
- Are able to safely operate motorized delivery vehicles; including driving throughout the county in a timely manner, parking in designated loading zones, on and off-loading equipment and boxes;
- Can work independently or with a team.
- The successful candidate must pass a criminal background check and pre-employment physical requiring the candidate to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Obtain and maintain a forklift certification within the first 90 days of being hired.
- Teamsters Local 117 Administrative Employees union.
- Obtain and maintain a Washington state drivers license.
