Registered Nurse - Isolation Quarantine Centers COVID-19 Response

SUMMARY:
As King County continues to take an aggressive approach to fighting the effects of COVID-19, we are asking for your help. There is a significant need for additional staffing assistance at the Isolation/Quarantine Centers (IQC) and potentially Assessment/Recovery Centers (AC/RC) throughout Seattle-King County.
Please note: This is a role that may have contact with symptomatic/COVID positive clients.

Job Duties:- Provide medical assessment and monitoring of patients. This includes intake assessments, monitoring patient's health, support psychosocial stability, and complete discharge activities.
- Patients' status will range from asymptomatic to symptomatic and may need to consider underlying health conditions, substance use, and behavioral health in assessment and monitoring. Depending on the severity of symptoms and behavioral health support, rounding may be less or more frequent and completed by phone or in-person with PPE.
- As needed over the counter medications may be provided to patients. Any pre-existing medications patients are prescribed will be self-directed by the client and not under nurse management. However, nurse may assist client to get prescriptions refilled if needed during their stay.
- Position will orient patient to facility, review Patient Code of Conduct at the site, and schedule for meals.
- Position may assist with distribution of meals and support coordination of services, and supports for the patient while housed at the site,
- Position will gown with appropriate PPE following strict facility protocol. Scrubs policies in place for facilities. PPE and scrubs supplied by facility.
- Consult and support is available with the On-site or On-Call Supervisor and/or the Medical Director as needed.
Requirements & Skills:- Registered nurse (RN) license in good standing
- Associate Degree in Nursing Science from an accredited school of nursing
- Washington State Drivers' License or the ability to provide transportation to work locations may be required.
- Current BLS-CPR for Healthcare Providers
- Must be willing to provide options counseling and administer Plan B, if needed.
Desired Qualifications:- Knowledge and experience with substance use disorder treatment.
- Behavioral Health nursing experience.
- Knowledge of disease surveillance and investigation
- Bilingual/bicultural applicants
- Ability to work under pressure and carry out assignment and responsibilities in a thorough, accurate and timely manner
- Ability to work in community settings without on-site supervision with culturally and socio-economically diverse populations

WORK SCHEDULE: 12 hour Day, Night, and Swing shifts available. 0.6-1.0 FTE available. These are fully-benefited positions with differentials for nights and/or weekends as well as COVID-19 premium rate. These positions support 24/7 facilities and may work holidays and weekends. May also work outside of assigned shift and/or location in order to meet operational needs.
