Examples of Duties:
- Provide patient care based upon practice guidelines, community standards of care, and Federal and State laws and regulations.
- Provide nursing assessments and interventions including medical, dental and psychiatric screening. Monitors and documents treatment progress and patient response
- Evaluate, monitor and treat drug and alcohol withdrawal.
- Carry out prescribed treatments, wound care.
- Administers medications and vaccinations.
- Provide mental health services, as a member of an interdisciplinary team, to patients.
- Respond to emergencies throughout the facility; injury and illness; performs CPR when needed.
- Health education
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Requires current Washington State Registered Nurse license in good standing
- Associate preparation in nursing from an accredited school of nursing
- Pass a security clearance and/or background check to secure access to the jails.
- BLS-CPR for healthcare providers
- Valid Washington State Driver's License or ability to travel to various sites within Seattle-King County.
- Experience working in correctional facility.
- Demonstrate experience working with a diverse and underserved population.
- Bilingual and/or bicultural
- Willing to provide full spectrum of options counseling.

Necessary Requirements:
- Documentation of current BLS CPR certification with AED training required at time of hire. CPR/AED Heartsaver courses do not meet this requirement.
- The selected candidate will be required to pass a thorough background investigation.
- An offer of employment will be contingent on passing a pre-employment physical exam (should be able to lift 50 pounds, move quickly up and down stairs, crouching/bending to perform CPR). Details available upon request.

- Employees are required to adhere to OSHA/WISHA guidelines including but not limited to completing their mandatory trainings on time.
