King County Rail Division has an opportunity for an SDA Section Manager in Rail Business and Administration. This senior leader will report directly to the Division Deputy Director and will work in partnership with employees, colleagues, and stakeholders to ensure that Metro provides world-class service while advancing the following:- Health and safety of our workforce

- Manage the Rail resource functions including budget, contracts, maintenance service center, and other administrative functions.
- Lead team to ensure the alignment and accuracy of all budgeting and administrative processes and documentation, to ensure continuity and timeliness to meet Rail resource needs.
- Develop and implement a standardized work program to ensure consistency, productivity, and accountability for business and administrative functions.
- Ensure continuous improvement concepts are incorporated into the daily processes.

As the Section Manager, you will:- Establish, develop and manage their respective Rail Sections to deliver high-quality, timely service to customers.
- Build teams, supervise, and mentor staff within the Rail Division.
- Ensure that employee and public safety continues to be Metro's highest priority, maintaining strict adherence to safety rules and procedures and continually seeking to enhance safety practices.
- Partner with unions and other internal and external stakeholders to deliver excellent service and build a community-oriented, diverse, and inclusive work environment.
- Plan and implement strategic goals and policies; ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and policies; analyze and interpret operating policies, procedures, and guidelines; and approve recommendations for improvement.
- Lead and manage the development of new initiatives, efficiencies, and operational methods; determine and select technology and equipment; and direct program and procedure development, implementation, monitoring, and reporting.
- Lead, help develop, and motivate employees, helping them to recognize the important role they each play in achieving the overall agency goals and empowering them to perform accordingly.
- Develop, approve, and monitor budget; determine and allocate resources.
- Understand data and build reports from various sources such as EAMS, Excel, and other platforms and develop data sources/metrics/visual management tools for MBR to present to teams and leadership.
- Promote partnership and foster positive working environments within Rail Division with counterparts at Sound Transit.

During the mandatory telecommute order, work will be done remotely, but the assignment may include on-site visits to Metro facilities. Employees will be provided with a County issued laptop and must maintain a workspace with an internet connection where they can reliably perform work and remain available and responsive during scheduled work hours. Employees must reside in WA state and within a reasonable distance to their King Countyworksite to respond to workplace reporting requirements. There will be situations where the employee is required to report to a County worksite.
Please note that when an employee conducts work that is likely to bring them in contact with another individual, safety precautions are required by the department in alignment with the PublicHealth Directive from the Seattle & King County Public Health Officer.
Work Schedule
The workweek is 40 hours, Monday through Friday. This position not subject to the provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act, and therefore not eligible for overtime pay if scheduled.
