Senior Quality Assurance Engineer

King County Information Technology is looking for Senior QA Engineers to work closely with Software Quality Assurance service owners, Program Managers, Business Analysts, developers and SaaS/COTS vendors to test agreed upon application functionality. The Senior QA Engineer will lead various testing efforts with a team of QA Specialists in creating and executing test cases to fully exercise all functionality. The Senior QA Engineer is also responsible for developing test estimations and strategies for projects of varying size, scope, and complexity in order to deliver high-quality systems on schedule.

Work Schedule
The normal workweek for this position is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Alternative work schedules may be considered. This position is not eligible for overtime pay.
Work Location
The primary location of this position is the Chinook Building 401 5th Ave S Seattle WA, 98103. During the mandatory telecommute order through January 8, 2021, work will be done remotely.

- Be a key SCRUM delivery team member that is responsible for upholding and ensuring quality assurance standards; contributes and participates in all SCRUM activities and ceremonies.
- Lead platform testing such as Dynamics 365 and integration across King County agencies.
- Collaborate with BAs to work with SME resources and the development team to track defects during UAT.
- Provides timely and accurate status defect information and appropriate metrics to facilitate QA reporting. Reports individual status: dashboard information, open issues, risk analysis.
- Engineers test strategies and test plans encompassing a suite of reliable test cases, determining where to use manual and/or automated approaches. Executes test cases, record results, and report defects.
- Test for compliance with applicable accessibility standards and legislation as well as create efficient, delightful and productive experiences for everyone, including users with disabilities.
- Interacts with Developers, Business Analysts, System Analysts, Project Manager, Program Manager and SaaS/COTS solutions provider to understand customer needs, and then implements and tests high-value features and product functionality.
- Leads testing efforts with multiple QA resources on large scale projects.
- Reviews and analyzes design specifications and user stories and provides feedback concerning their completeness and accuracy.
- Responsible for coordinating application hotfixes and major release/update testing with customers, application supports and SaaS/COTS vendors.
- Build and lead testing estimates, schedules, timelines, bug analytics/metrics, and mitigation plans.
- Mentor junior quality assurance engineers regarding best practices with an expert ability to explain technical concepts in written and verbal forms.
- Conduct tests with multiple browsers on multiple platforms - including desktop, mobile, and networked devices.
- Experience, Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills
- Associates Degree and eight or more years' professional testing experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 6+ years of Web Application testing experience.
- 4+ years of experience testing on iOS and Android operating systems.
- 4+ year of experience with Microsoft Team Foundation Server or Azure DevOPS
- 5+ year of experience with Agile/SCRUM development processes.
- Must have thorough knowledge on Dynamics 365 cloud implementation integration testing.
- Hands-on experience and knowledge of Web Services and REST API testing with tool such as Postman or BlazeMeter.
- Understand the relationship between database tables, keys, and indices.
- Exceptional SQL skills and driven by data (joining many tables, unions, aggregating, having statements, stored procedures, views, etc.)
- Experience with debugging tools such as Google Chrome's developer tools, Firefox Firebug or HTTP Fox is a plus.
- Deep understanding of Web technologies (server/browser, Chrome/IE/Firefox/Safari, JSP, JavaScript and other scripting languages)
- Motivated to research problems and learn independently when needed.
- You must have passion, desire, and an attention to detail.
- You must be eager to learn and advise on new testing technologies.
- You own and prioritize testing of multiple releases throughout the product lifecycle.
- You thrive in a fast-paced environment with high rates of change.
- You have a can-do attitude. You are willing to wear multiple hats and will do what needs to get done, even if it isn’t in the job description.
- You have strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
