Sr. IT Project Administrator
- Summary
King County Metro Transit's Technology Project Management Team in the Capital Division is searching for an innovative Sr. IT Project Administrator who will advance our work in delivering IT projects for internal King County customers as well as customers of the King County Metro department. This position is responsible for providing high level administrative and technical support to IT Project Managers by providing documentation and logistics for all activities involved in the coordination and execution of projects.
The Transit Technology Project Management team provides project management from conception to steady state with operational teams through planning, procurement design and implementation. The team's project portfolio includes a wide-ranging and challenging variety of capital projects for transit applications and systems including: real time customer information, electronic fare collection and mobile ticketing, on board systems, scheduling and route planning, vehicle dispatch and telematics, maintenance work orders, asset management, wireless network communications, transit signal priority, enterprise architecture, business intelligence, capital project management and reporting, as well as other systems enhancements and life cycle management.- Job Duties

At the request of Technology Project Managers, you will also:
- Provide high-level administrative/technical project support to IT Project Managers on a regular basis.
- Propose changes to the team's SharePoint site and maintain web pages for multiple projects by using SharePoint.
- Assist in scheduling and coordinating project and team meetings.
- Develop and collect research materials, interpret and summarize technical information from many sources for general use.
- Proof-read project documentation and correspondence.
- Act as liaison between technical and management staff and/or between various organizational levels.
- Provide assistance on project management software.
- Maintain electronic and hard copy records management systems.
- Assist with business plans, project plans, memos, reports, workflow analysis, redesign and cost/benefit analysis.
- May work on special projects.
- May be responsible for project deliverables.
- May provide direction to project staff or lead a group of same or subordinate level staff; act as a resource for direction, training and guidance for less experienced staff.

Minimum Qualifications
- Knowledge of information systems, including analysis, design, development, implementation, maintenance, documentation and training procedures and practices.
- Basic knowledge of the types of technologies used in the County – SharePoint, Microsoft suite and MS Project.
- Basic knowledge of IT project management principles (Waterfall, Agile).
- Advanced knowledge of project management principles, methods and change management processes.
- Advanced time-management and organizational skills.
- Analytical and problem solving skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Advanced Web publishing skills – SharePoint in Office 365 and PowerBI
- Advanced skill in tracking, maintaining plans and issues and actions logs.
- Discretion, while working on highly visible and politically sensitive projects.
- Skill in working with a variety of individuals from diverse backgrounds,
- Skill in working effectively within a team environment.
- Skill in handling multiple competing priorities.
- Skill in working with multiple stakeholders with potentially conflicting interests.
- Project Management Institute (PMI) CAPM Certification, or enrollment in a preparatory course for the CAPM exam or equivalent experience.

Position Information
This Term-Limited Temporary position is anticipated to last 24 months. We are accepting applications from the public and current King County Employees. A Special Duty Assignment will be considered for King County employees eligible for special duty assignments. This recruitment will also create an eligibility list for future vacancies in this classification that occur in the next 6 months. The eligibility list is valid for up to 6 months upon creation, at the discretion of the hiring authority.

Work Schedule
This position is Exempt from the provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act, and is not eligible for overtime pay. Work schedule is normally Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Alternative work schedules may be considered. Work outside of the normal workday is required periodically.
