- King County Metro Transit has an exciting opportunity for a Talent Advisor (Recruiter or HR Analyst), to help us recruit and hire a talented, diverse workforce to meet the current and future needs of our organization. We are looking for an outstanding customer service oriented Talent Advisor to help us make mobility a human right.
The Human Resource Talent Advisors focus on Metro Transit job opportunities in three functional areas: 1) Skilled Trades/Crafts 2) Planning/Technical, and 3) Leadership/Support/Administration. This position may also work on Human Resource Generalist duties when needed. This includes leave administration, performance management, training and development, and other needed Human Resource duties. This position will initially be part of a team focused on Metro Transit job opportunities in the skilled trades and crafts.
This recruitment is open to all King County employees and the general public. This recruitment is for one Term-Limited-Temporary position for one year, and one Special Duty Assignment for six months. It also creates an eligibility pool to fill future career service positions, term-limited temporary vacancies, and/or special duty assignments that may occur in the next year.

- Be a Talent Advisor – solving problems and influencing outcomes both with your customers and within talent acquisition.

- Be Innovative – in sourcing and assessment strategies for our organization.
- Be Knowledgeable – in Federal, State, and County laws, policies and practices that affect Human Resources.
- Be Agile – able to adjust to changes in needs from our customers and to find ways to fulfill those needs.
- Managing and performing full-cycle recruitment processes for Metro positions in the Trades group which are considered hard to fill positions. Working collaboratively with leadership, hiring managers, and other human resources staff.
- Engaging with and sourcing applicants through on-line social media, community contacts, and networking events. Creating systems to build a pipeline of diverse, competitive talent.
- Promoting King County as an Employer of Choice. Generate diverse applicant pools in support of Equity and Social Justice Goals.
- Developing and administering merit-based selection materials including recruitment plans, job announcements, job-related exams, interview questions, and related rating criteria.
- Establishing priorities for managing own work and stay on a focused, efficient path toward achieving results, while optimizing the recruitment processes by contributed innovative ideas and recommending efficiencies.
- Establishing relationships with both hiring managers and candidates to be a trusted advisor delivering outstanding customer service throughout the hiring process.
- Experience, Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills
We'd love to hear from people with:
- High level of customer service to management and all levels of employees and external customers.
- Experience in Human Resources to include Federal, State, and local laws.
- Experience in understanding union contracts and how they affect HR processes
- Experience in managing full-cycle recruitments in a unionized or government environment.
- Experience in providing consultative advice to managers OR any combination of education and experience necessary to perform the scope of job duties.
- Demonstrated skill at working collaboratively, creating relationships, building trust and rapport with a diverse group of people and professionals of different levels.
- Ability to build a genuine collaborative and consultative style in their approach to their work. Build and understand the importance of building effective relationships with customers, team members, hiring managers, and other staff.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Be comfortable providing advice and consultation to senior leaders and lead value added discussions that challenge conventional norms and thinking.
- Ability to stay organized, prioritize and handle multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced and demanding environment.
- Are skilled and comfortable using an office productivity suite and the ability to use Outlook, application tracking, SharePoint, and other internet based tools in their daily work (The county uses Microsoft Office and NeoGov).

Work Schedule
This position is non-exempt from the provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act, and therefore is eligible for overtime pay. The incumbent will have a typical 40-hour workweek (Monday-Friday); flex schedule may be approved. Occasional non-standard work hours may be required to attend testing, interviews, events, job fairs, etc.
Work Location
The primary location of this position is in the King Street Center (201 S. Jackson St., Seattle, WA)Temporary Telecommuting Requirement
Some of the work associated with this position will be performed remotely, at least through July 5, 2021 in compliance with King County’s telecommuting mandate. Employees will be provided with a County issued laptop and must maintain a workspace with an internet connection where they can reliably perform work and remain available and responsive during scheduled work hours. Employees must reside in WA state and within a reasonable distance to their King County worksite to respond to workplace reporting requirements. There will be situations where the employee is required to report to a County worksite. Please note that when an employee conducts work that is likely to bring them in contact with another individual, safety precautions are required by the department in alignment with the Public Health Directive from the Seattle & King County Public Health Officer.To support employees during this time King County has a robust collection of tools and resources to support working remotely. The individual selected for this opportunity will be joining an innovative and progressive team.
