- King County Metro Transit Employee Services is searching for twoTransit Administrative Support Specialist III (TASS III) positions.These positions provide administrative support to the Talent Management team and the Transit Employee Labor Relations (TELR) team. The TASS IIIs are high-level customer service support to Metro employees, customers, and visitors. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is looking to expand into HR using their organization and administrative skills. As the TASS III, YOU WILL:Provide excellent customer service by greeting and directing visitors, answering and responding to inquiries in all forms of communications and maintaining security and confidentiality at all times.
Manage and coordinate multiple calendars and help ensure managers are prepared for upcoming meetings. Anticipate needs of managers and other staff.
Help plan and prioritize daily tasks as well as strategic work for team functions.
Develop, implement, and improve systems to help track important deadlines, records requests, and regular monthly duties.
Provide support to Employee Service functions as needed.
Manage records to ensure timely creation, maintenance, and archiving of documents/files to support historical accuracy; tracking, compiling information, documents, and records for public disclosure requests, union information requests, arbitrations and litigation; and following records retention and destruction procedures in accordance with legal requirements.
Talent Management Specific
Administer human resource office operations by organizing requests, scheduling meetings and candidates, assisting with researching best practices, creating and updating detailed information in support of classification and position management, and drafting materials such as presentations, executive summaries, and reports.
Participate in HR functions by preparing interview materials, administer testing when necessary, verifying and completing HR Paperwork, and other materials.
Manage process improvement projects, update our standard operating procedures and organize our front desk functions.
Employee and Labor Relations Specific
Provide support administrative support for various meetings such as grievance hearings and labor/management meetings.
Assist with the logistics and information management for ongoing employment and labor cases.

WE ARE LOOKING FOR CANDIDATES WHO:
Have a background in providing executive and/or administrative support OR any combination of education and experience that clearly demonstrates the ability to perform the job duties of the position.
Have strong skills in customer service, ability to be organized and analytical, have good time management, and can communicate effectively with strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to work well independently or as part of a team.
Have an interest and ability to learn general principles and practices of human resources management and employment-related federal and state laws and regulations.
Are experienced and skilled in using a software suite such as Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook etc.).
Ability to use application tracking, enterprise resource planning (ERP) software, and/or grievance/case tracking software. (The county uses NeoGov and PeopleSoft Human Capital Management application and is currently preparing to utilize Origami for grievance tracking)
Have strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Can track multiple projects and report on status at any time.
Have demonstrated ability to effectively problem solve and apply good judgment and initiative
Can maintain confidentiality and use discretion when handling sensitive information
Have demonstrated ability to apply excellent customer service skills both orally and in writing, including the ability to provide professional and courteous service
Have demonstrated the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with diverse groups
Have skills in reviewing and compiling data, developing reports, and creating charts and diagrams
Are experienced and skilled in creating, proofreading, editing, and formatting documents according to standard business writing practices in MS Word, Adobe Pro and other systems.

Work Schedule
This position is non-exempt from the provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act and is therefore eligible for overtime pay if scheduled. Work schedule is normally Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00p.m. Variations may be required depending on the demands and needs of the work.Teleworking Requirement
Union MembershipThe work associated with this position will be performed by a hybrid of teleworking and onsite work as needed. Employees will have access to shared workspaces at various King County facilities. Employees must reside in Washington state and within a reasonable distance to their King County worksite to respond to workplace reporting requirements.
Employees will be provided with a County issued laptop and must maintain a workspace with an internet connection (access may be supplemented in some situations) where they can reliably perform work and remain available and responsive during scheduled work hours. Please note that when an employee conducts work that is likely to bring them in contact with another individual, safety precautions are required, including the wearing of masks in some situations.
