Transit Administrative Support Specialist III (Z3 : KC Personnel Guidelines)
- Summary
King County Metro Transit Employee Services is searching for a Transit Administrative Support Specialist III (TASS III). This position represents the HR team as the front desk receptionist and is a high-level customer service support to Metro employees and visitors. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is looking to expand into HR using their organization and administrative skills. The ideal candidate enjoys making an impact through their administrative support, has outstanding customer service, is highly organized and detail oriented, acts with a sense of urgency, and has the ability to multi-task effectively.

As the TASS III, YOU WILL:- Provide excellent customer service at the HR front desk: greet and direct visitors, answer and respond to inquiries in all forms of communications and maintain security and confidentiality.
- Manage and coordinate multiple calendars and help ensure managers are prepared for upcoming meetings. Anticipate needs of managers and other staff.
- Help plan and prioritize daily tasks as well as strategic work for Talent Management functions.
- Administer human resource office operations by organizing requests, scheduling meetings and candidates, assisting with researching best practices, creating and updating detailed information in support of classification and position management, and drafting materials such as presentations, executive summaries, and reports.
- Develop and implement a system to help track important Talent Management deadlines, records requests, and regular monthly duties.
- Provide support to Employee Service functions as needed.
- Participate in HR functions by preparing interview materials, administer testing when necessary, verifying and completing HR Paperwork, and other materials.
- Manage records to ensure timely creation, maintenance, and archiving of documents/files to support historical accuracy; compiling information, documents, and records for public disclosure requests; and following records retention and destruction procedures in accordance with legal requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
WE ARE LOOKING FOR CANDIDATES WHO:- Have a background in providing executive and/or administrative support OR any combination of education and experience that clearly demonstrates the ability to perform the job duties of the position.
- Have strong skills in customer service, ability to be organized and analytical, have good time management, and can communicate effectively with strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to work well independently or as part of a team.
- Have an interest and ability to learn general principles and practices of human resources management and employment-related federal and state laws and regulations.
- Are experienced and skilled in using Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook etc.) and ability to use application tracking and/or enterprise resource planning (ERP) software. (The county NeoGov and PeopleSoft Human Capital Management application)
- Have strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Can track multiple projects and report on status at any time.

Work Schedule
This position is non-exempt from the provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act and is therefore eligible for overtime pay if scheduled. Work schedule is normally Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00p.m. Variations may be required depending on the demands and needs of the work.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, this position is working from home except Mondays to welcome new hires. This is a front desk position and the face of Employee Services HR in Metro so is not normally allowed to work from home on a regular basis.
