Video Specialist SDA (Occupational Education and Training Program Administrator)

Metro Transit’s Bus Operations has a Special Duty Assignment opportunity for a Video Specialist (Occupational Education and Training Program Administrator). The Video Specialist will assist and work collaboratively with Senior Instructional Designers with on-location film production using GoPro cameras to record footage of bus routes for safety and training purposes. The Video Specialist will also edit video/audio footage, asset management, video sharing and archiving of outdated video footage. The most competitive candidates for this assignment will have knowledge of video production, editing with Premiere Pro and After Effects and operating Metro Transit coaches.

We are only accepting applications from current Metro Transit Department Career Service employees, who have passed their initial King County probationary period. This assignment is expected to last 3 months with the possibility of extension. This recruitment may also be used to create an eligibility pool for future SDA vacancies that may occur in this classification. The eligibility pool will be valid for 6 months upon creation, or until exhausted, at the discretion of the hiring authority.- Job Duties

- Coordinate and collaborate with other Instructional Designers on executing video projects including shot lists and participate in on-location film production
- Update Electronic Route Qualification videos and quizzes
- Edit videos and audio using Premier Pro, Audition and After Effects software
- Interact with specific audiences to provide information, listen to concerns and help resolve problems
- Embed videos into Moodle
- Asset management, video sharing and archiving
- Create Transit Route videos while driving the coach and/or with Transit Trainers driving the coach
- Setup GoPro Cameras, film, narrate, edit, and upload to Vimeo
- Highlight areas within footage, add graphic elements and callout points of interest
- Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:
- Demonstrated experience and knowledge of video production, process and setup and with post-production editing of video and audio using Premiere Pro, After Effects and Audition
- Ability to drive a Metro Transit coach safely (current WA State Class B CDL with Air Brake and Passenger Endorsements)
- Knowledge Metro Transit Bus Routes
- Ability to work collaboratively and respectfully with a diverse group of individuals from a variety of different positions and backgrounds
- Ability to stay organized and ensure deadlines for video content and projects are met
- Ability to maintain positive outlook and demeanor when collaborating with internal and external partners
- Demonstrated ability with creating and editing traditional and non-traditional video formats
- Skilled in using the following software programs: Premier Pro, After Effects, Audition, Microsoft Outlook, SharePoint, Word, Excel
- Ability to work independently efficiently and also within a team and able to assume personal responsibility
- 1-2 years of video production and editing experience
- Advanced knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro (timelines, effects, control effects, and sequence aspect ratios)
- A degree or certification in Film/Video Production and/or photography

Selection Process:
A selection process will be used to determine the most qualified candidate. This process will include the following: A review of your letter of interest, resume and evaluation of your demo reel/video that demonstrates your Video/Audio production experience and MAY include an interview.
Final offers will be contingent on a record review. References may also be conducted. Management will make the final selection of candidate to be placed into the special duty assignment. The SDA will also be dependent on approval by your current supervisor. Pay for SDA will be in accordance with Personnel Guidelines or selected employee's collective bargaining agreement.
Work Location and Schedule:
This position will report to Central Atlantic Base located at 1500 6th Ave S Seattle, WA 98134. Travel to other Metro bases, King County locations and bus routes will be required.
Typical working hours are 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Monday - Friday. Work outside of normal hours may be required and alternative work schedules may be considered. This position is designated exempt from the Fair Labor Standards Act and is not eligible for overtime.
