The Department of Human Resources has an excellent opportunity for a Term-Limited Temporary or Special Duty Assignment as a Human Resource Analyst to join the Civil Service Administration Team. We are looking for a highly skilled and organized human resources professional that is committed to delivering excellent customer service to internal and external customers. This temporary assignment is anticipated to last through 2020. The special duty opportunity is only open to current King County career service and appointed employees that have completed their initial King County probation.
The Civil Service Administration Team consists of a four-member team which includes the Civil Service Administrator, two Civil Service Recruiters, and a Civil Service Analyst. The team manages the hiring process for most positions in the King County Sheriff's Office (KCSO) which includes creating and executing the testing process and certifying the final eligibility list. Work Schedule
The typical workweek is 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday. This position is non-exempt from the provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act, and is overtime eligible.

- Work with internal customers to understand position needs. Prepare, facilitate and/or conduct testing, interviews or other screening methods to determine most desirable candidates. Including collaboration with and managing vendor accounts for testing.
- Develop recruiting strategies to establish and maintain talent pipelines.
- Build and sustain effective relationships with internal customers, and current and prospective candidates.
- Represent Civil Service through the careful application of rules and policies, communicating to various audiences with the goal to increase understanding and trust.
- Innovate and implement new processes to increase efficiencies and improve the candidate experience.
- Coordinate recruiting timeline with KCSO and civil service team, communicating verbally and in writing timelines and deliverables.
- Participate in innovative process improvements with a focus on efficient recruiting timelines, resource management, data and documentation maintenance, and candidate sourcing.
- Experience, Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills
Bachelor's degree in human resources or a related field OR any equivalent combination of experience and education which provides the applicant with the desired skills, knowledge and ability required to perform the work.
- Three years of increasingly responsible human resource and recruiting experience. Experience must demonstrate a working knowledge of state and federal discrimination law, general employment principles, and general labor law as they relate to administering selection processes, advice, and decisions.
- Excellent communication skills, demonstrated success communicating to varied and diverse audiences both verbally and in writing;
- Innovative problem solving, seeking continuous improvement;
- Exceptional customer service skills, including an ability to establish and maintain relationships in all levels of the organization
- Skill in effective time-management, prioritizing competing deadlines and managing multiple projects and client relationships;
- Demonstrated sensitivity to and understanding of diverse communities, cultures and backgrounds;
- Analytical and strategic problem solving skills, with a demonstrated ability to understand and adhere to strict policies and procedures and maintain confidentiality.
- Strong administrative and technical knowledge to ensure efficiency and document maintenance, with a high level of attention to detail.
- Experience working in the public sector
- Experience working with Law Enforcement
- NEOGOV experience as an internal user
