Do you love to cook?? We are seeking a temporary Cooking Instructor to lead a Teen Cooking Class at Steve Cox Memorial Park in White Center. Candidates should have knowledge of classroom management, strong organization skills, enjoy working with teens, and have a passion for cooking.

Work Schedule: The work schedule for this position is flexible and can be varied and event-driven. It may require weekends and late evening work. This position is non-exempt from the provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act, and is overtime eligible.
Job Duties:- Provide course introduction, course content and course objectives.
- Arrive on time and be ready for class and students fifteen minutes prior to the start of class.
- Supervise and interact with participants in a positive and supportive manner, providing a positive role model for participants at all times.
- Maintain safe and clean kitchen environment at all times.
- Lead class in equipment setup, break down and cleaning.
- Keep accurate attendance records.
- Communicate any concerns or problems regarding course to supervisor.
- Support King County Parks Policies and Procedures.
- Demonstrated prior teaching experience and culinary expertise.
- Skill in communicating clearly and respectfully.
- Skill in establishing and maintaining positive working relationships with other employees.
- Demonstrated skill in providing and following oral and written instructions.
- Ability to complete facility use evaluation form after each event.
- Ability to respond to emergency situations that may arise.
- Skill in providing excellent customer service to a diverse customer base.
- Ability to maintain current CPR and First Aid certifications.
- May be required to lift up to 50 pounds.
- May require lifting, bending, reaching, sitting for long periods of time.
This position is not eligible for leave, holiday, insured, or other benefits.
