Public Health's Prevention Division is looking for an interviewer/recruiter Disease Research and Intervention Specialist for their Medical Monitoring Project (MMP). The primary purpose of this position is to recruit and interview people sampled for this project. The Medical Monitoring Project is funded by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and implemented by state and local health departments to monitor clinical, socio demographic, and behavioral characteristics of a random sample of adult with diagnosed HIV. (https://www.cdc.gov/hiv/statistics/systems/mmp/). People sampled for MMP are contacted by MMP staff and invited to participate in a one-time 60-minute (or a little longer) interview. Findings from MMP are used to improve services for people with HIV and inform HIV prevention strategies.
WORK LOCATION: This position will primarily work at the Chinook Building. As needed, the position will require some field work and may be deployed to other Public Health Centers and sites throughout King County.
WHO MAY APPLY: This position is a Special Duty Assignment only. The only applications that will be considered are those that are Career Service, Career Service Exempt and other regular (non-temporary) employees for King County who have completed their initial King County probation.
*You must have supervisor approval prior to taking a Special Duty Assignment.
WORK SCHEDULE: This position will start for a couple of weeks with a regular schedule of Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. After this the position's hours will be 11 am to 7:30 pm Thursday through Monday (with some flexibility) to maximize evening and weekend recruitment.

- Recruit sampled adults by mailing letters, making cold-calls, and sending text messages.
- Screen potential participants for eligibility and obtain informed consent.
- Conduct in-depth, standardized surveys with participants.
- Maintain detailed records in multiple locations/systems.
- Follow strict data security and confidentiality protocols.
- Participate in MMP trainings and required Public Health trainings.
