We currently have an exciting opportunity for a nurse leader in the role of a Personal Health Services Supervisor (PHSS) in the Family Planning Program. This position is based out of King County Public Health Centers. Public Health Centers provide WIC services, care coordination for pregnant and parenting women, infants, and children and reproductive health services for men, women, and teens. The Personal Health Services Supervisor (PHSS) position is responsible for the oversight and support of multi-disciplinary teams that may include: Nurse Practitioners, Medical Assistants, and Administrative Support staff. This position may also supervise other disciplines such as Interpreters and may expand their supervision to other sites and programs. This is an opportunity to lead an amazing team whose passion is to support individuals with limited access or no access to sexual health education and reproductive health care. The PHSS will have the overall responsibility for the daily supervision of the team and be a key member of the site leadership team(s), working with Family Planning Program staff, other supervisors and community partners. Primary Responsibilities May Include:- Direct daily clinical supervision and support of the staff assigned to services and programs at a Public Health Center to include: hiring, orientation, reflective supervision, performance evaluations, training, coaching, counseling, team building, discipline of staff, and staff development.
- Assuring adequate staffing and coverage in collaboration with other on-site Public Health Center supervisors and the float pool supervisor.
- Lead program planning, implementation, coordination, compliance and evaluation
- Participation in planning, implementing, and monitoring program budgets.
- Organization and facilitation of team meetings and active support of employee engagement and inclusion.
- Collaboration with community providers to assess the public's needs, and develop program goals and objectives in line with community need.
- Participation in departmental Lean and Quality Improvement efforts.
- Monitor, collect, and report program data in relation to staff productivity, caseload expectations, services to targeted populations of need, and program services initiatives.
- Oversee and ensure timely and accurate clinical documentation and data input into electronic health information systems (EPIC).
- Establish and maintain cooperative, effective working relationships with site leadership teams, Public Health Program staff and other Division or Department employees.
- Act as resource person on office procedures, practices, schedules, accounts receivable and payable activities.
- Participate in the implementation of new or revised administrative support procedures.
- Assisting patients when complaints or issues arise.
- Position may include overall center management during Area Manager absences and oversight of teams across more than one Public Health Center.
- May be assigned to work at other Public Health Center sites, based on operations and programmatic needs..
Most competitive Candidates Will:- Have experience in the clinical management of a variety of health care providers and administrative staff. Experience in clinic workflows, including client scheduling, client check-in, clinical service provision, and client check out processes. Along with related oversight of adherence to pharmacy and lab procedures as applicable
- Demonstrate experience in personnel supervision and appreciation, staff development, mentorship and management techniques.
- Demonstrate clear communication in verbal, written, and non-verbal communication.
- Demonstrate strong conflict resolution skills.
- Demonstrate skills in remote supervision of staff.
- Have skills and experience in program implementation and development of processes and procedures using LEAN or quality improvement/quality assurance practice.
- Have knowledge of occupational health, handling of hazards, and safety principles.
- Demonstrate knowledge of adolescent, family planning, and maternity support services.
- Demonstrate skills in establishing and maintaining effective workplace relationships and teamwork
- Have knowledge and experience in electronic medical records such as EPIC
Requirements:- Must possess a Baccalaureate in Nursing Degree from an accredited school of nursing
- Must possess an active and unencumbered Washington State license as a Registered Nurse
- Must possess Documentation of current BLS CPR certification with AED training at time of hire
- Must possess the ability to travel between sites on a regular basis

Family Planning Clinic hours are Monday to Thursday 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM and Fridays from 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM. Depending on business needs, work hours and on-site presence may be adjusted to meet Public Health Center needs. This may include work hours outside the standard Family Planning Clinic hours. This position is exempt and not overtime eligible.
