We invite you to apply for this position which involves coordinating and administering high-level, complex financial systems, projects and processes for the Department of Natural Resources and Parks-Director's Office and in support of its divisions.

- Develop complex budget and financial spreadsheets for management information and reporting purposes. Ensure standardization, consistency and uniformity in the gathering, processing and reporting of financial information.
- Serve as department lead for ad-hoc financial projects and participate in the design and implementation of such projects.
- Chair internal committees and lead presentations to external reviewers
- Identify and assess projects and systems requirements; provide strategic advice and participate in development of strategic direction for DNRP
- Identify and assess policy and procedural issues and make recommendations to management on recommended courses of action.
- Work with the King County Executive Services Financial Management Section to monitor policy compliance, internal control and produce GAAP based financial statements.
- Monitor audits by attending opening and closing meetings; tracking concerns raised during an audit and the division/department's action plan(s) to resolve.
- Work with the King County Executive Services Business Resource Center to setup system access, approvals and monitor financial system performance and accuracy.
- Work with the King County Information Technology Department to monitor, replace, enhance and acquire information technology hardware, software and systems.
- Experience, Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills
The most competitive applicants will have the following experiences and qualifications:
- Education in finance, public administration, accounting, or related field with specific course work in budgeting and financial analysis; OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Increasingly responsible work experience that demonstrates knowledge of financial analysis, knowledge of budgeting, accounting and financial systems, and knowledge of general laws and administrative policies governing public financial practices and procedures.
- Demonstrated ability in quantitative analysis, structuring financial models, and advanced skill in assessing financial impact of alternative decisions.
- Demonstrated knowledge of analytical, management, and financial information systems.
- Ability to understand political decisions.
- Developing and delivering communication that convey a clear understanding of the unique needs of different audiences and to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
- Demonstrated organizational skills including effective time management, project management and planning skills.
- Demonstrated ability in presenting complex analytical and audit results and budget presentations, using spreadsheets or other quantitative presentations, to a wide variety of audiences.
- Demonstrated skill with strategic planning.
- Demonstrated knowledge of financial auditing.
- Working knowledge of green financing/accounting
- Experience with utility rate setting.
- Intermediate data analysis skills using business intelligence tools like Oracle BI, Power BI or Tableau
- Intermediate training skills on financial topics and systems
