The Environmental Health Services (EHS) Division of Public Health Seattle and King County is seeking applicants from diverse backgrounds who are representative of our King County population, to apply for the position of Fiscal Specialist III to support the division's finance and budgeting team.
This position reports directly to the EHS Finance Manager and works closely with the division's Business and Finance Officer. The Fiscal III position will perform a variety of fiscal, budget and accounting duties for the division. Successful candidates in this position will be extremely motivated to provide excellent customer service in a fast paced environment and independently prioritize work while working as a member of a team.

This is a one year Special Duty/Term Limited Temporary position with the possibility of extension.
Who may apply: This position is open to King County Employees and the general public.
Work Schedule: The normal workweek is Monday – Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. This position is subject to the Fair Labor Standards Act and is overtime eligible.

- Prepare federal, state, and other grant billing in a timely manner.
- Conducting reconciliation between data from side systems with Oracle EBS financial system.
- Download and organize documentations in preparation for audits.
- Routinely preparing worksheets to present financial data for various stakeholders.
- Compile data that may require researching information through files, including spreadsheets and/or customized database applications including financial research questions.
- Prepare budget revisions.
- Provide financial review of transactions for accuracy and perform monthly account reconciliations and prepare necessary journal entries.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Strong organization and problem solving skills.
- Excellent time management and priority setting skills; able to handle multiple tasks with extreme accuracy.
- Skill in tracking and following through on assignments.
- Experience, Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills
- Relevant experience in finance and/or accounting field or bachelor's degree in business, accounting, economics, or related major.
- Strong written and verbal skills.
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions; adjust to changes in workload demands; and research, gather and compile technical information from a variety of sources.
- Intermediate to advanced computer skills, including MS Office applications such as Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Skill in maintaining data accuracy and integrity.
- Strong math and analytical skills.
Desired Qualifications:- Experience using Oracle and or EBS.

- Public Health relies on office automation (Microsoft Office) and web-based enabled tools, therefore candidates must be proficient and comfortable with computer use to perform functions associated with on-going work.
- Regular and reliable attendance, effective communication skills, and development of effective working relationships are requirements of all Public Health positions.
- Staff may be required to play an active role in the event of a public health emergency, which may include changes in responsibilities and working hours.
NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:- The selected candidate is required to be subject to a background investigation.
- Employees are required to protect the privacy and security of protected health information as defined in State and Federal Law.
- Employees are required to adhere to OSHA/WISHA guidelines including but not limited to completing their mandatory trainings on time.
