This is a six months Special Duty Assignment position for the Food & Facility Section as a Health & Environmental Investigator III - Field Operations Senior.

Work Schedule: This position is a 40 hour a week position that may include weekends or evenings. - Job Duties
- Provide an on-going field support of staff conducting joint inspections of water recreational facilities.
- Train, coach and mentor current and new field staff in learning and implementing Water Recreation codes, policies and procedures. Develop and implement training plans with emphasis on in field training.
- Develop guidance resources to be stored on SharePoint, and provide training on water recreation topics, including inspection tip sheets.
- Provide guidance and support to field staff and seniors for inspections at non-compliant and challenging facilities.
- Support field staff and coordinate efforts on: educational outreach, dealing with challenging operators/establishments and responses to emergencies.
- Determine and resolve issues and conflicts among teams and team members. Attempt to resolve conflicts between staff, clients and other agencies and advance issues to supervisors as needed.
- Troubleshoot environmental health problems and resolve issues consistent with direction from managers and supervisors.
- Review the district's routine inspection and educational reports and the daily run of Envision Reports 5116 with focus on consistency, quality and completeness of reports consistent with section standards. Knowledge of Envision software.
- Continuously provide immediate constructive feedback to team members and bring forth issues of concerns to the attention of supervisors.
- Assist the district supervisor in responding to serious complaints from either the health inspector or customers.
- Participate in Food and Facilities Section monthly senior meetings to foster consistency in Food and Water Recreation Codes implementation throughout the section.
- Other duties as assigned by program supervisors and managers.
- Experience, Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills
- Experience managing projects, developing procedures and training.
- Extensive knowledge of water recreation regulations including WAC 246-260, 246-262, Virginia Graeme Baker Pool & SPA Safety Act, Suction Fitting Standard.
- 5 years water recreation program experience including inspection, plan review and enforcement.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities and skills.
- Knowledge and demonstrated skill with the Envision Connect database. Ability to run Envision Connect reports.
- Knowledge and demonstrated skill with SharePoint.
- Knowledge and demonstrated skill with providing team-based environmental health services.
- Knowledge and demonstrated skill with providing co-worker coaching and mentoring.
- Experience multi-tasking complex projects and working effectively with other Public Health divisions and programs and other local and state government programs.
- Ability to listen and communicate effectively in stressful situations and effectively resolve conflict.
- Experience in working with and providing services to diverse populations.
- Skills in critical thinking and interested based problem solving.
- Registered Sanitarian/REHS certification required.
- Washington State Drivers' License required.
