Public Health Seattle-King County is looking for a skilled, enthusiastic and flexible Public Health Nurse to join the Mobile Medical program. The Mobile Medical Program's mission is to build relationships with people living homeless by providing patient-centered services and meeting people where they are to foster health and well-being. This Career Service position provides direct patient care onboard mobile clinics one to two days per week. In addition, the position will develop special projects to continuously improve clinical services, implement evidence-based practices, and develop innovative pilot projects that enhance our community impact.
Work Location: This position will split time between an administrative office based at 401 5th Avenue, Seattle, WA and our mobile medical clinics which provide care throughout South King County and Seattle.
Work Schedule: This is a Career Service, 0.8 FTE position that works 32 hours per week with a flexible schedule. The position requires travel to mobile locations and works 1-2 evenings per week to accommodate clinic schedules. This position is eligible for shift differential as well as overtime.

Major program responsibilities:- Collaborate closely with the program's interdisciplinary care team to assure patients receive appropriate care, health education and linkages to medical/specialty care.
- Participate in team-based outreach and triage at community sites that host Mobile Medical clinics and occasional community events.
- Develop and evaluate standard processes that enhance clinical quality and service delivery, efficient workflows and improved data reporting.
Specific responsibilities:- Assist in the development of job aids and processes that support training new health care employees and students.
- Develop and maintain working relationships with a diverse group of partners such as consumers, clinicians, and social services staff or volunteers to support care coordination for patients.
- Support regional responses to preventable disease outbreaks and emergencies in collaboration with King County's intradepartmental teams, city planners, and community agencies.
Desired Qualifications:- Experience providing clinically appropriate, client-driven services in a low- barrier environment for special populations including but not limited to: individuals experiencing homelessness, criminal justice populations, individuals with mental illness, individuals with substance use disorders, and individuals with limited English proficiency.
- Experience providing wound and/or foot care.
- Demonstrate knowledge of safety net systems serving individuals and families living homeless
- Demonstrate unconditional positive regard for others and a non-judgmental approach to problem-solving.
- Demonstrate a commitment to equity, harm reduction and trauma-informed care.
- Effectively prioritize a large number of simultaneous tasks.
- Maintain flexibility to changing priorities and processes.
- Communicate and collaborate effectively in an interdisciplinary, culturally diverse, team-based work environment.
- Skilled in using EPIC and other information management systems
- Experience working with underserved or homeless populations
Requirements:- Washington State Registered Nurse License in good standing.
- Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited school of nursing.
- Documentation of current BLS CPR certification with AED training required at time of hire. CPR/AED Heartsaver courses do not meet this requirement.
- Willing to provide options counseling
- Willing to work at more than one site

- Public Health relies on office automation (Microsoft Office) and web-based enabled tools, therefore candidates must be proficient and comfortable with computer use to perform functions associated with on-going work.
- Regular and reliable attendance, effective communication skills, and development of effective working relationships are requirements of all Public Health positions.
- Staff may be required to play an active role in the event of a public health emergency, which may include changes in responsibilities and working hours.
Necessary Special Requirements:- The selected candidate must pass a thorough background investigation. PHN's who provide direct services in CHS under a DSHS service agreement will go through background checks every three years.
- Employees are required to protect the privacy and security of protected health information as defined in State and Federal Law
- Employees are required to adhere to OSHA/WISHA guidelines including but not limited to completing their mandatory trainings on time.
- Washington State Driver's License or the ability to travel to work locations throughout King County with no public transportation in a timely fashion.
