Are you someone who takes great interest in the health and wellbeing of animals and can also work considerately and effectively with their human owners? Regional Animal Services of King County (RASKC) is seeking short term temporary dynamic Pet License Canvassers. Selected candidates will serve through October 2019 and work an estimated 14 hours per week. Sales of pet licenses helps lost pets reunite with their families and support King County's Regional Animal Services programs to care for and shelter animals.
The RASKC team provides pet shelter and field services to 24 cities and all of unincorporated King County. Their services include pet adoption, responding to animal assistance calls in the field, pet licensing and much more. Scope of Job Duties: To be considered for this opportunity, you must at a minimum demonstrate skill and ability to:
- Educate the public on the importance, benefits and law requirements of a pet license;
- Provide citizens free temporary pet licenses;
- Complete reports of daily activities.
We are looking for candidates who:
- Provide excellent customer service to internal and external stakeholders, while being outgoing, energetic, professional and courteous in your communication style;
- Are self-motivated and take pride in raising awareness to the community;
- Demonstrate a genuine appreciation of working with diverse audiences;
- Are tech savvy and willing to master new tools and ideas;
- Have successful sales experience;
- Have strong attention to detail;
- Can work outside all day, sometimes walking up to 7 miles per-day;
- Can report to work in rural areas of King County, have reliable transportation throughout their shifts and be available July through October.
Supplemental Information:- These are short term temporary, part time positions. The typical work schedule is Saturday 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. with a one-hour lunch break and Sunday 1 to 7:30 p.m. with a 1/2-hour lunch break. Schedules may also include week nights 4:30 to 8:30 p.m.
- This position represented by the Teamsters, Local 117-Administrative union and is covered by the provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act.
- A uniform – shirt, seasonal jacket, hat, etc. are provided for wear during shift.
- You must have the ability to obtain a Washington State driver's license.
