Summary

Are you looking for a great paying part time job that allows you to work outside and get exercise through walking?  Regional Animal Services of King County (RASKC) is seeking short term temporary Pet License Canvassers. Canvassers will be assigned work locations within RASKC's jurisdiction throughout King County.  Selected candidates will work 14 hours throughout each weekend. This position will go through the summer and if interested, may have the potential to work until the end of October 2019.

Sales of pet licenses helps RASKC  provide King County with sustainable, cost effective services that protect people and animals, while providing humane animal care.

Scope of Job Duties:  To be considered for this opportunity, you must at a minimum demonstrate skill and ability to:

  • Educate the public on the importance, benefits and law requirements of a pet license;
  • Issue citizens free temporary pet licenses;
  • Complete reports of daily activities in written and in a mobile device; 
  • Demonstrate a passion to helping RASKC meet their goals by making a commitment to working your assigned work schedule.
We are looking for candidates who:
  • Are eager and want to do part time seasonal work;
  • Provide excellent customer service to internal and external stakeholders, while being outgoing, energetic, professional and courteous in your communication style;
  • Work independently and be self-motivated and hardworking;
  • Have successful sales experience and/or willing to learn;
  • Have strong attention to detail and take pride in their work;
  • Can work in all-weather elements, sometimes walking up to 7 miles per-day;
  • Have reliable, personal transportation.
 
Supplemental Information:
  • The typical work week is Saturdays 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. with a one-hour lunch break and Sundays 1 to 7:30 p.m. with a ½ -hour lunch break.  Additional hours may also include week nights from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m.
  • This position represented by the Teamsters, Local 117-Administration union and is covered by the provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act.
  • A uniform is provided for wear during your shift – shirt, season jackets, hat, etc.
  • You must hae the ability to obtain and maintain a Washington State driver's license.
