Metro's Employee Services division is looking for a Program/Project Manager II to manage the scope and delivery of Metro's Organizational Health project. This position will work with the Employee Services leadership team and colleagues representing all parts of Metro to provide program support to build a cohesive organizational health strategy that will inform Metro's investments, priorities and programs contributing to a work environment where we: manage our performance; foster a culture of imagination, effectively solve problems, and continuously improve; where we grow our future and current leaders; and where our employees are engaged in the workplace.
This temporary assignment is to fill an SDA or TLT.
We anticipate this position will last until the end of 2020. This position will be located at King Street Center, 201 S. Jackson Street, Seattle WA 98104. Standard office hours are 8:00a.m. - 5:00p.m. Monday through Friday. However, hours may vary depending on business need. Alternative work schedules may be considered. This position is designated non-exempt from the Fair Labor Standards Act, and is therefore eligible for overtime pay with prior supervisor approval.

About the Position
Applying equity and social justice principles is a daily responsibility and a foundational expectation for all King County employees. In this role you will apply equity and social justice principles that exemplify shared values, behaviors, and practices. In coordination with Organizational Health Program Manager, this role will manage and oversee day-to-day project activities, issues, timeline, and quality of all deliverables in all aspects of the Organizational Health Project, which consist of, but is not limited to:- Track priorities, progress, and sequencing activities to ensure smooth implementation of all activities related to the project
- Organize, maintain, and develop systems and tools to maximize team collaboration, work flow efficiencies, etc.
- Perform administrative duties, to include meeting coordination, schedule, note taking, and follow up on action items
- Serve as a liaison between Metro managers, key project stakeholders, and internal and external groups or individuals
- Provide technical expertise to other internal staff on a limited basis
- Report team progress, resource needs, and potential issues in an understandable and ongoing way
- Keep team members on task through follow-ups and reminders
- Gather resources and materials for desk research
- Conduct research and write reports or issue papers summarizing analysis or research
- Work with team to ensure that all deliverables are consistent, timely and of the highest quality
- Perform other duties as assigned
We are looking for candidates who meet the following minimum qualifications:
At least two years of project/program management experience OR an equivalent combination of education and experience providing the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the job duties. Must have knowledge of Metro Transit Department operations.
Other required qualifications include:- Excellent communication, collaboration and interpersonal skills (oral and written)
- Skills in organization and project management
- Ability to adapt when ambiguity occurs
- Skills in analysis and problem solving (could be budget analysis and policy analysis or other demonstrated skills)
- Skills in gathering, manipulating and using data utilizing a computer and other tools
- Skill in working effectively as a team member to coordinate accomplishment of tasks
- Skill in managing multiple tasks simultaneously
- Skill in the use of personal computers and word processing and spreadsheet software
- Skills in meeting design and meeting facilitation
- Proficiency in MS Office, MS Project
In addition, the most competitive candidates will possess the following desired qualifications:- Quantitative skills -- applying quantitative and qualitative analytical methods
- Policy analysis skills
- Meeting design and facilitation skills
- Skill in providing direction to others and coordinating work of multi-disciplinary staff
- Ability to earn and maintain trust
