Senior Business Analyst
- Summary
King County Metro Transit's Asset Management section is looking for an innovative Senior Business Analyst to serve as a team lead for improving business processes and meeting asset management objectives. Metro's Asset Management is a new initiative in the Finance & Administration Division leading the agency to assess, analyze, and manage assets to achieve optimal balance between cost, service and risk.
This new position is responsible for performing statistical analysis on a variety of complex, multi-dimensional issues, and leading process improvement to align with Metro's strategic objectives to ensure safe, reliable, equitable and sustainable transit service delivery. The Senior Business Analyst will operate independently and manage a broad and complex body of work.

Metro Transit is a department of King County, which reports to the King County Executive and the Metropolitan King County Council.

Work Schedule
This position is exempt from the provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act, and is therefore NOT eligible for overtime pay. Work schedule is normally Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Variations may be required depending on the demands and needs of the work.
Work Location
This position will be located at the King Street Center building, 201 S. Jackson St, Seattle, WA.

- Job Duties

Knowledge, Skill and Abilities
A Bachelor's degree in business, public administration, computer science or related field and related business process analysis and improvement experience, which includes facilitation and leadership experience OR any combination of experience, education, and training that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the work.
- Experience leading, organizing, and motivating multidisciplinary teams and working with matrixed workgroups and individuals at all levels within a large organization
- Advanced knowledge of analysis, design, and development of complex business systems
- Advanced knowledge of process improvement methods and techniques such as Lean and Six Sigma
- Advanced knowledge and skill in application of statistical analysis of various concepts and theories for identification of benchmarks, trends, and anomalies
- Skill in analyzing information, solving complex and analytical challenges, and make recommendations based on analysis
- Demonstrated experience managing and leading change, ensuring project execution and quality while successfully managing and mitigating risk
- Knowledge of procuring, integrating, implementing and managing vendors
- Experience in the use of large, complex spreadsheets, word processing, presentation, statistical analysis and database software
- Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communications skills
- Ability to synthesize complex information, prepare clear and concise materials and communicate technical information to non-technical audiences
- Skill in analyzing information, solving complex and analytical challenges, and make recommendations based on analysis
- Ability to work well and respectfully and establish and maintain effective working relationships with a diverse group of individuals from a variety of different positions, cultures and backgrounds
- Ability to demonstrate behaviors that include fairness, respect, inclusiveness, integrity and ethical conduct
