We are seeking temporary Teen Program Leaders to support our Teen Program by providing active supervision of recreational activities and programs. This work involves responsibility for supervising groups of children, teens and adults in a variety of recreational activities. This position also involves teaching activities such as games, arts and crafts, athletics and special events. Work will be performed both indoors and outdoors and in inclement weather.

Work Schedule: The work schedule for this position is flexible and can be varied and event-driven. It may require weekends and late evening work. This position is non-exempt from the provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act, and is overtime eligible.
Job Duties Include:- Assist in planning, organizing, implementing and monitoring teen activities.
- Interact with participants in a positive and supportive manner, providing a role model for participants at all times.
- Be proactive in resolving conflict among youth and ensuring a safe environment.
- Enthusiastically promote and recruit youth for all field trips, classes, programs, activities.
- Keep accurate attendance records of program activities.
- Set up equipment for program activities and store equipment and clean facility at end of program.
- Enforce Teen Program rules and King County policies and procedures.
- Represent King County Parks in a professional manner to youth, parents, school and agency personnel, and the community at large.
- Working knowledge of the principles, rules, materials and equipment required in a variety of recreational activities.
- Skill in providing excellent customer service to a diverse customer base.
- Skill in communicating clearly and respectfully.
- Skill in establishing and maintaining positive working relationships with other employees.
- Demonstrated skill in providing and following oral and written instructions.
- Ability to prepare written reports as assigned.
- Ability to respond to emergency situations that may arise.
- Ability to working outdoors in all types of weather as needed.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- May require lifting, bending, reaching, sitting for long periods of time.
- Ability to assist with program set-up and take-down.
- Maintenance of current CPR and First Aid certifications.
