Director, Public Messaging
The mission of LeadingAge is to be the trusted voice for aging. The Director, Public Messaging is a key strategist and project manager that leads LeadingAge's public messaging and thought leadership - beginning with the strategic and tactical implementation of a new initiative to build public trust in aging services. Working closely with communications and marketing colleagues, outside vendors, and other LeadingAge staff, they will proactively drive activity around LeadingAge's new initiative designed to build public trust in aging services - including initiative development, vendor relationships, materials development and distribution, reporting and analysis, and engagement among members, states, board, partners, and allies.
Requires BA in communications or a related field plus a minimum of 5 years' experience leading public information campaigns; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience with complex communications project management and campaign development. Impeccable project management and organizations skills. Superior communications skills, with ability to clearly explain both strategic concepts and complex details. Experience leading a team of internal staff of varying experience levels and outside agencies and vendors. Experience with nonprofits or aging services preferred. Interest in the LeadingAge mission.
