Certified Nursing Assistant
Park Manor-River’s Edge is a leader in skilled nursing and rehabilitation services. We are currently looking for Full-time and Part-time Certified Nursing Assistants.
Objective: Assist nursing personnel in providing basic care for residents along with necessary unit tasks and functions in compliance with Park Manor policies and procedures in compliance with applicable health standards from the Wisconsin Department of Health. Performs other tasks as assigned by the charge nurse. Attends, at a minimum, 12 hours of continuing education annually (this is the sole responsibility of the employee). Abides by laws, rules, and regulations promulgated for protection of residents’ safety and rights.
Qualifications:
- Be at least 16 years of age.
- Complete prescribed Nurse Aide Certification training program. Maintain competency in required skills, demonstrated by annual assessment. Maintain certification by completing 12 hours of continuing education annually.
- Be prompt and dependable for duty, and able to follow instructions.
- Be willing to work any shifts as needed to cover for emergencies and non-emergencies, and as necessary to maintain staffing levels for quality care.
- Respect, promote, and secure the personal possessions of residents, as well as their right to privacy, confidentiality, dignity, safety, and all other rights secured for them by state and federal law.
- Must have the physical ability to perform job-related duties, which may require lifting, standing, bending, transferring, stooping, stretching, walking, pushing, and pulling. This includes pushing, pulling, lifting, moving over 75 pounds.

- Respond immediately to the resident’s needs in accordance with the individual plan of care, or as directed by charge nurse.
- Provide direct resident care and assistance in ADL’s by informing resident of procedure prior to starting; including:
- Bathing
- Dressing
- Oral Hygiene
- Feeding and/or assisting with eating
- Nail, hair, eye, ear, and skin care
- Toileting, perineal care
- Lifting, turning, moving, positioning, and transporting residents into and out of bed, chairs, tubs, etc.
- Restorative nursing – ROM, ambulation, positioning, splint application, following up programs issued by O.T., P.T., S.T.
Any additional tasks assigned:
- Respond to all residents’ call lights immediately
- Provide for prevention of spread of infection by consistent use of hand washing, universal precautions, and special isolation procedures as per policy and procedure
- Maintain resident safety through the proper use of alarmed safety intervention side rails, Hoyer and bath lift in accordance with policy and procedure
- Take, record and report temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure, weight, height, fluid, calorie intake and urine output as directed by care plan
- Report to charge nurse any change or questionable change in resident physical or psychosocial condition
- Collect urine/stool specimen as instructed by charge nurse as per policy and procedure
- Provide indwelling catheter care
- Assist in transporting residents to meals, activities, church, therapies, and beauty shop as needed
- Takes all requests for confidential resident information directly to the charge nurse immediately
- Participates in obtaining resident care goals
- Provides quality activity time with resident as indicated by care plan
- Come to work as scheduled and consistently demonstrate dependability and punctuality
- Attendance and completion of all in-service training requirements.
- Comply with all company policies and procedures
- Any additional tasks as assigned
Working Conditions
- Works in well-lit, ventilated area.
- Exposed to heat, moisture, hot surfaces, and substances throughout each work shift.
- Exposed to other potential hazards, including, but not limited to, sharp instruments, machines, electrical equipment, chemicals, food dust, and wet floors.
- Is subject to exposure to infectious waste, diseases, conditions, etc.
- May be exposed to, and must tactfully deal with, the unique personalities and changing moods of residents, visitors, and co-workers.
- May be exposed to personal circumstances or private affairs of residents and nursing home business information, which is, and must remain, confidential.
Physical and Sensory Requirements
- Must be able to push/pull over 75 pounds and lift/move over 75 pounds.
- Must be able to use hands, arms for grasping, pushing, pulling, and for moderately difficult manipulation such as writing, typing, positioning, etc.
- Must be able to walk, stand, and squat.
- Must be able to bend to floor, kneel, and twist.
- Must be able to stand for prolonged periods, remain in uncomfortable positions for long periods, and crawl.
