Essential Functions
- Oversees the first step in the Revenue Cycle: patient receivables and benefits assignment.
- Ensures consistency, efficiency, and quality assurance of front office operations.
- Acts as a bridge between clinics, billing and HIT departments.
- Maintains knowledge of current health benefit options and practices, Medicaid both regular application and Presumption Medicaid, Medicare, Commercial Insurance, sliding fee discount program, and outreach and enrollment activities to ensure patients receive appropriate assistance in applying for health benefits and access to care. Responsible for Insurance Marketplace outreach and enrollment activities and monitoring the insurance landscape. Serves as PHC’s primary contact for the Senior Health Insurance Information Program (SHIIP).
- Fosters a service oriented environment and identifies trends in patient satisfaction results.
- Assures adequate and efficient processes and workflow for the assigned functions; utilizes effective workflows interdepartmentally with other revenue cycle units at PHC. Identify inefficiencies in workflows and opportunities for improvement to increase revenue which includes but is not limited to insurance enrollment and eligibility, scheduling and registration practices, collections, management of denials, networks and reimbursement practices, and ancillary services including interpretation services.
- Assists with the development and training of staff, ensuring staff have a working knowledge of revenue cycle activities regarding their point of service duties.
- Works collaboratively with the Clinic Directors to assure that front office functions are fully integrated and aligned with the overall goals of the clinic. Serves as liaison to external insurance and managed care organizations producing and providing information relating to assigned unit as well as other community resources and networking

Minimum Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in health care administration, business, public health or related field or an Associate’s degree.
Experience: Two years of relevant experience for applicants with a Bachelor’s degree. Four years relevant experience for applicants with an Associate’s degree.
*Relevant experience includes revenue cycle and/or client operations in either a medical or dental clinic, benefit administration either directly with patients or in billing, and customer service relations
License/Certifications: None required
Typical Work Hours
The schedule for this position will typically be: Monday-Friday 8 AM - 5 PM. Hours may vary.
