Position Title: Supplier Quality Specialist
Reports To: Quality Assurance Manager
Rogers is seeking an organized individual with a Quality Assurance background to join our team as a Supplier Quality specialist. In this role, you will be partnering with the Warranty Administrator and suppliers to perform Root Cause Corrective Actions dealing with non-conforming product and drive continuous improvements across the Supply Chain. The ideal candidate must have excellent communication, problem solving skills and an eye for supplier quality.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
The position is responsible for communicating non-conformances to suppliers, performing root cause investigations, and driving systematic improvements to eliminate recurrence. Duties shall include, but are not limited to the following:
- Monitors and assures quality of purchased components and materials
- Works with suppliers to improve delivered part quality and ensure flow of parts to manufacturing
- Establish Receiving Inspection requirements for components based on failure trends
- Communicates issues and concerns with suppliers as required
- Perform supplier audits to ensure conformity to company standards
- Work with suppliers to improve their quality and delivery systems
- Partner with the Warranty Administrator to coordinate product returns, schedule, and rework instructions
- Ensure supplier and part information is maintained in the ERP system
- Ensure supplier conformance to relevant requirements
- Researching, sourcing and assessing the best vendors to supply necessary materials
- Visiting vendor facilities to assess manufacturing environment and procedures
- Maintaining detailed reports on supplier quality, including defect rates and other key performance indicators (KPIs)
- Providing technical advice and guidance to suppliers to reduce defect rates
- Updating job knowledge by engaging in educational opportunities
- Participate and support continuous improvement objectives of the departments
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business or related field preferred; additional relevant experience will be considered in lieu of degree
· At least 2 years of Quality experience in a manufacturing or production facility
· Experience with 8D problem solving
· ERP system experience
· Expertise in quality management system requirements such as FMEA, Control Plan, PPAP, RCCA, Problem Solving, etc.
· Experience with manufacturing and production processes and engineering principles
· Ability to interpret drawings and requirements for ensuring adherence to quality parameters
· Excellent communication and liaison skills
