Serve your community as a fire commissioner
Be a leader. Help set the course to meet the fire and emergency medical services needs of the people of southwest Snohomish County today and in the future. As a commissioner, you’ll help define a long-term vision, provide financial stewardship and adopt policies to guide staff in providing these vital emergency services.
South County Fire is seeking nominees to fill a vacancy on its Board of Fire Commissioners:
- Election District 4 Position: Nominees must be registered voters residing within the boundaries of Commissioner Election District 4, which includes the Mariner and Lake Stickney neighborhoods.
The Board of Commissioners oversees the RFA’s long-term vision and guides the staff in achieving the goals of the RFA. Board members also represent the RFA on intergovernmental boards and committees.
Commissioners attend board meetings in the evening on the first three Tuesdays of each month.

South County Fire is a regional fire authority established in 2017 by voters in unincorporated southwest Snohomish County and the City of Lynnwood.
We also provide fire and emergency medical services (EMS) to the cities of Brier, Edmonds and Mountlake Terrace under three separate service contracts.
