HR Manager

Essential Duties
- Day-to-day human resource management - including personnel records, enforcement of policies/procedures, and facilitating collaboration and team building to maximize productivity.
- Performance management - drive the performance management process within the firm, including continuous feedback and annual recaps, advising attorneys on best practices, and assisting with performance or disciplinary actions of staff in conjunction with the CEO/COO and ED.
- Assist with and coordinate recruiting and hiring of attorneys, staff and temporary personnel in conjunction with Executive Director ("ED") - including sourcing, retention
and succession planning. - Conduct first day onboarding for all new hires, working across departments to ensure a consistent orientation schedule.
- Assist ED with mediating and adjudicating disputes between non-attorney staff - including coaching and development of employee communication skills.
- Assist with the evaluation and professional development of staff - including improving organizational effectiveness and training employees to meet current and future job demands.
- Recommend and promote operational changes in conjunction with the ED - including policy development and change management.
- Be a champion for DEI, working to integrate company initiatives into HR policies and procedures, including recruiting, performance management, and training and development.
- Manage and process payrolls and related processes, site administrator.
- Manage and administer employee benefits, managing the relationship with brokers.
- Oversee engagement programs and other employee relations work.

- Understanding of current federal, state and local HR laws, regulations and standards.
- Ability to maintain confidential information and to act with discretion.
- Highly effective and consistent communicator.
- Ability to interact professionally and effectively with attorneys, staff and all levels of firm personnel.
- Skills to build relationships personally and with others.
- Strategic / critical thinker who can anticipate problems and develop possible solutions.
- Excellent verbal, written, organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail, responsiveness and accountability.
- Intermediate knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint, and the ability to quickly and effectively learn new technologies.
- Experience with Paylocity and Smartsheet is preferred.
