Field Human Resources Generalist
Taco Time NW is seeking a Field Human Resources Generalist at our Corporate Headquarters in Renton, WA. The Field HR Generalist is responsible for providing on-site HR support to all Taco Time NW restaurants by serving as an extension of the HR team to carry out responsibilities in the following functional areas: employee relations, policy adherence and implementation, and employment law compliance.
Essential Functions and Key Position Accountabilities:
* Cultivates a safe, honest and open team environment where all employees are engaged and aligned with the company vision and mission
* Willing and able to travel up to 75% of the time for business purposes (within state)
* Collects information and details on employee relations issue, provides recommendation(s) and creates appropriate Disciplinary Notice within HRIS while ensuring the District Manager and the VP of HR are aware and have visibility to the issue
* Provides on-site HR support related to employee relations, coaching, separations and environment studies and feedback
* Ensures districts and individual restaurants maintain a work environment that is conducive to employee self-representation
* Conducts efficient, ethical and professional investigations including intake/fact-finding interviews used for clearing up policy violation, performance management, harassment complaints
* Guides the escalation and resolution of HR questions, issues and requests to the appropriate channels (Recruiting, Payroll, Benefits, etc.), by acting as a champion of the HR shared services delivery model
* Ensures Disciplinary Notices are issued and closed out in a timely manner
* Works closely with Restaurant Mangers, District Mangers and the VP of HR to discuss solutions for workplace investigations. May also work with Legal when appropriate and approved by the VP of HR
* Conducts new leader check-ins either by phone or in-person
* Stays up to date on company processes, policies, and current employment laws
* Identifies trends in employee relations and communicates these to District Mangers, Co-Presidents and VP of HR
* Provides coaching, counseling, and direction to Restaurant Managers ensuring fair employment practices and compliance with employment laws are being followed
* Submits EEOC reporting and responds to inquiries from EEOC
* Responds to unemployment claims by providing details of separation, lay-off or reduction in hours. Attends un-employment hearings as needed
* Partners with HR & Payroll team to support the building of collaborative and cross functional team.
* Participates in employee data audits
* Maintains an attitude and work ethic that is consistent with the company's mission statement.
* May participate in event planning and employee recognition programs

* Excellent organizational and prioritization skills, including the ability to manage multiple tasks/projects at one time
* Adapts to changes in work assignments and environment, is willing to assume additional responsibility and learn new processes
* Supports special projects and other designated activities, as assigned. Performs other related duties and projects as assigned by Manager
Qualifications:
* This position requires a minimum of three years of employee relations experience, preferably in a restaurant or service industry environment.
* Experience providing field support in a multi-site/location environment
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to uphold a high level of confidentiality.
* Strong organizational skills in managing multiple projects simultaneously.
* Ability to build strong internal and external relationships.
* Work independently without regular direct supervision.
* Knowledge of Microsoft Suite products with intermediate abilities in MS Word and Excel.
* Must be able to travel to Taco Time restaurant locations, 75% of the time.
