Baker/Assistant Chef

The Boat Company - Cruise Line

The Boat Company is a small cruise line operating in beautiful S.E. Alaska from April to September. We are currently looking for an experienced Baker/Asst. Chef.

Desired Skills/Abilities: 

  • Proficient in all aspects of baking. Gluten free a plus 
  • 2 years working experience baking breads, cakes, cookies and pastries 
  • Self-motivated with the ability to multi-task 
  • Detail oriented with an understanding of time management and cleanliness 
  • Positive attitude, good listening skills and the ability to follow direction is paramount 
  • Must have a passion and enthusiasm for working in the galley 
  • Previous work on boats is preferred, but not required

Primary Responsibilities: 

  • Work with the Chef to coordinate and carry out the preparation of all meals - including appetizers, desserts and occasional hot snacks 
  • Preparation of early morning breakfast and pastries such as coffee cakes or muffins 
  • Help plate meals for guests 
  • Rinse and clean dishes, pots, pans and utensils. Help maintain all cooking items in orderly and absolutely sanitary condition 
  • Regularly clean and sanitize galley

Minimum Requirements: 

  • US Citizen or US National 
  • Must pass pre-employment drug screen reference checks and background check 
  • Must be team-spirited and capable of living and working in close quarters for long periods of time with other crew members 
  • Must be available for entire season of operation from April through September, commencing and completing the term of employment in the Puget Sound area of Washington State
