Warehouse Forklift Operator
The Seattle Times, the Pulitzer Prize-winning media company, is hiring for a Warehouse Forklift Operator in our Operations department. This particular role is vital to the smooth running of the Receiving team. The Warehouse Forklift Operator organizes newsprint rolls with a clamp truck while preparing rolls for daily deliveries. As the “Paper Handler” (as it's known in the news industry), you will be responsible for loading and unloading of rolls from trucks, stacking inventory, and other tasks as assigned. Successful candidates will be comfortable with the operation of electric and manual pallet trucks, electric roll movers and forklifts, and have prior lift truck experience.

Qualifications
- Experience: At least one year of warehouse experience.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalency preferred
- Must be forklift certified on all receiving lifts within 6 months
- Basic math skills
- Proficient computer skills
- Basic English: reading and writing
- Detail-oriented
Schedule
Nights, weekends, and some holidays, depending on team schedule. Work weeks set at 35 hours per week.
This position requires union dues be paid as well as successful completion of a drug screen for controlled substances (which includes marijuana) after an offer is given as a requirement for hire.
