Job Summary
We are recruiting for a Relationship Manager, Workforce Development whose primary responsibilities include engaging company partners to develop and deepen relationships, maximize revenue and generate resources for United Way to advance our CORE (Creating Open Roads to Equity) impact work. The position focuses on strategic relationships within a portfolio of lead and mid-market accounts.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain strategic workplace/employee relationships.
- Use a consultative selling approach to create and execute comprehensive, year-round engagement strategies with key leaders and personnel in portfolio of accounts. Discover and support community engagement priorities.
- Plan, organize and manage annual campaigns within lead accounts.
- Deliver compelling ask to both large and small audiences.
- Analyze and evaluate strengths and weaknesses of engagement and campaigns strategies. Suggest improvements. Assist in developing new resource development methods and tools. Set goals and develop timetables and work plans for lead groups.
- Work with Corporate & Foundation Relations, Grants Manager to solicit and secure annual corporate support.
- Work with Individual Giving Manager to create opportunities for relationship building with donors who give through workplace campaigns.
- In conjunction with marketing and communications, work to develop collateral to support campaign efforts.
- Identify and cultivate new sources of revenue, including corporate, foundation and professional support.
- Maintain awareness of political, social and economic factors in the community that may affect partner relationships. Apprise team of relevant information.
- Prepare and maintain accurate records, reports and materials, including database information.
- Coach and instruct other staff and volunteers on effective engagement techniques and strategies.
- Assist with development of training programs and resource materials, as needed.
- Participate in all engagement activities, including training, volunteer management, public speaking, and team meetings.
- Consult with employee campaign managers of assigned accounts to oversee and manage employee campaigns. Consult with and direct volunteers to secure corporate contributions and/or personally contact CEO’s of assigned accounts.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- This position provides supervision of two Campaign Executives (temporary staff typically from July-December) and carries out responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include hiring and performance management within the department to include but not limited to training, leading, coaching, and directing staff to achieve results.
Attributes of a Successful Candidate
- 2-3 years fundraising, business development or sales, or related experience, education, and/or training.
- Ability to communicate effectively at all levels, with diverse individuals.
- Ability to maintain a high level of poise and professionalism in all circumstances.
- Ability to initiate and build relationships with workforce donors via telephone and in-person.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively, with a talent for building strong and productive relationships across constituencies.
- Ability to multi-task and work in a high project-volume environment.
- Experience with public speaking and facilitation to large and small audiences.
- Experience in sales environment.
- Exercise discretion and independent judgment.
- Committed to improving outcomes for young children and/or families with low-income.
- Willing to grow in personal and professional learnings of social and racial justice.
- Be self-directed, enthusiastic and creative.
- Ability to organize a variety of tasks, meet deadlines and attend to details.
- Demonstrated word processing and overall computer expertise including MS Office and Power Point, and an aptitude for learning new software programs.
- Experience with Salesforce (or equivalent donor database) preferred.
- Current, valid driver's license; use of a private vehicle; and valid automobile insurance.
