REPORTS TO: Facilities Manager
POSITION OVERVIEW: Support the daily operations of the building by keeping the building clean; performing minor repairs, landscaping, providing surveillance of grounds, and other duties as assigned.
Hours: 7:30 am to 4 pm, Monday through Friday

SUMMARY OF REQUIRED DUTIES
The general areas of responsibility are:
- Perform minor repairs, as assigned by Facilities Manager, or as needed
- In support of facilities services, the Facilities Technician will help assure the quality of the building by cleaning restrooms, emptying trash and recycling bins for common area and hourly rental classrooms, sweeping and mopping common area and hourly rental classroom floors, dusting in common area and hourly rental suites and vacuum mats, grounds garbage pick up, ; occasionally use products to help restore finish to wood trim in building.
- Keep common areas clean and inviting
- Landscaping, including mowing and weeding
- Provide surveillance of building, ask trespassers to leave and call for help (911, etc.), as needed. Be the eyes and ears of the building. Ensure that the building is secure and doors are locked at all times.
- Fill in for other facilities staff, as needed.
- Provide customer service to UHeights patrons, including clients.
- Events: set ups and breakdowns for events, provide customer service to hourly rentals and resident organizations.
- Follows instructions regarding the safe use of chemicals and supplies
- Participate in training opportunities related to job and other organizational priorities, including anti-racism training, other facility job related training and org. strategic planning, etc. Attend monthly staff meetings.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION
The person in this position should possess a minimum of:
- Basic customer relations and service skills
- Ability to lift 50 lbs., sit or stand for long periods
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Demonstrate outstanding attendance and punctuality
- Ability to work with chemicals, paints or cleaners associated with this position
- Possess practical experience with the equipment associated with the position
- Knowledge of power tools and repairs preferred
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to understand & follow direction
- Possess experience in quality customer service
COMPENSATION: Starts $21.00/hour; health/dental benefits, matching retirement plan, paid sick/vacation and holidays.
