University Advancement (UA) supports the University of Oregon's (UO) mission of providing exceptional teaching, discovery, and service by strategically positioning the university to create awareness, build long-term relationships, and secure resources that increase understanding and further its aims. The division consists of approximately 200 employees primarily working out of Eugene, with offices in Portland and Bend. Departments within University Advancement include: the UO Alumni Association; Development; Advancement Operations; Federal Affairs; and State and Community Affairs. The Office of Development as part of University Advancement has a mission to maximize philanthropic impact at the University of Oregon. We do this by identifying, connecting and engaging alumni and friends around the globe with their passions to advance the vision and priorities of the university.
The University of Oregon Alumni Association (UOAA) fosters lifelong relationships, deepens engagement, and advocates on behalf of the university and Duck alumni around the world. Launched in 1879 with five alumni, the UOAA is proud of its long history of keeping alumni connected to the university and offering a wide array of opportunities for service. With a membership of more than 27,000, the alumni association serves as an important connection to the university for the more than 220,000 alumni around the world. Our vision is to be among the very best alumni relations programs in the country, uniting and engaging Ducks in all stages of flight.
The Development Strategy and Pipeline Programs team is a centralized fundraising unit responsible for building a broad base of sustainable, growing support for the University of Oregon from alumni, parents, friends, faculty, staff, and students. This team also serves the university community by providing expertise in direct marketing, regional efforts, mid-level giving, and strategic planning to its campus partners, as well as coordinating outreach to alumni and other constituencies to ensure that communication with these groups is effective and fundraising is maximized. This team collaborates with development staff to analyze and identify prospects for development portfolios and provides strategic evaluation and measurements of fundraising progress, ROI, and indicators.
The Associate Director of Regional Engagement (ADRE) serves as a front-line constituent engagement strategist in key regions around the United States with a goal of identifying and connecting alumni, parents, friends, and donors. In order to establish and cultivate lifelong relationships among UO alumni, parents, friends, etc., the ADRE will serve as a representative for the organization's multi-faceted University Advancement mission.
Reporting to the Director of Regional Engagement, the ADRE will work in consultation and collaboration with the Director; with colleagues in the UOAA and in colleges/schools/units across campus; and with enrollment management, career services, and other partners to advance the regional engagement strategy for alumni, parents, and friends through supporting the regional volunteer chapter, planning events, engaging new audiences, and connecting campus partners with community stakeholders.
The ADRE will build new networks of volunteers and supporters who are interested in supporting one or more of the university's many areas of work. They will coordinate closely with staff from various parts of University Advancement and hand off new fundraising prospects to development staff as appropriate.
The ADRE will be focused on the Puget Sound/Seattle area and could be based in Eugene or the specific region assigned. Travel up to 50% of the time, primarily to the assigned region, will be an essential expectation of this position.
Salary is commensurate with experience with the salary range starting at $58,000. The university offers an excellent package of employee benefits.
