The University Of Washington (UW) is proud to be one of the nation’s premier educational and research institutions. Our people are the most important asset in our pursuit of achieving excellence in education, research, and community service. Our staff not only enjoy outstanding benefits and professional growth opportunities, but also an environment noted for diversity, community involvement, intellectual excitement, artistic pursuits, and natural beauty. The UW School of Dentistry’s research programs contribute to the fundamental understanding of biologic processes and to the behavioral, biomedical, and clinical aspects of oral health. The School values diversity in its students, staff, faculty, and patient populations. It seeks to foster an environment of mutual respect where objectivity, imaginative inquiry, and the free exchange of ideas can flourish to facilitate personal development, professionalism, and a strong sense of self-worth.
The UW School of Dentistry’s (SoD) Department of Pediatric Dentistry is the region’s premiere authority on early childhood oral health. The department is committed to improving the health of children throughout the region, across the country, and internationally. Our staff are the most important asset in our pursuit of achieving academic excellence for our pre-doctoral and resident dental programs and student clinics. We achieve this by focusing on our primary mission to educate, conduct research, and prepare our students to be skilled oral health care professionals. Our providers and dental students provide a large volume of clinical care and participate in outreach programs that are particularly attentive to minority and underserved childhood populations. The department’s large ambulatory care facility, The Center for Pediatric Dentistry (CPD), is located at Magnuson Park off the UW’s Main Campus in Seattle. This state-of-the art facility is home to the department and a safety net for the region’s children. Our service mission is to improve the health and well-being of children in our community and throughout the region through clinical care, scholarship, and academic research.
