The Michael G. Foster School of Business has an outstanding opportunity for an Assistant Director, Executive Education.
The individual in this position will be the financial manager for departmental financial accounting, budget functions and operations support activities for the Executive Education Programs within the Foster School of Business. This person will manage the financial administration, financial accounting, financial information systems and the audit and compliance functions. They will oversee the performance of specialized, complex accounting functions using department software systems to prepare monthly accrual financial and budget reports, and monthly reconciliations. They are responsible for managing the annual Foster School budget planning process for the department and will work closely with the Associate Dean for Executive Education and the Associate Director of Program Operations. This position reports to the Associate Dean for Executive Education,
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Financial & Budget Management
1. Manage the financial administration, financial accounting, financial information systems, and the audit and compliance functions of Executive Education finance budget of over 5 million dollars.
2. Lead, develop, and implement appropriate policies, procedures and internal controls of revenue and expenses.
3. Oversee the performance of specialized, complex accounting functions using department software system to prepare monthly accrual financial and budget reports, monthly reconciliations with UW BARs & BSRs.
4. Manage the annual Foster School budget planning and recommendations for changes.
5. Train staff in purchasing, travel and financial policies, perform budget development and monitoring.
6. Develop and design reports for tracking revenue, expenses and budgets.
7. Work with Foster School and other department administrators to process faculty pay, maintain records, reconcile & correct for discrepancies.
8. Produce and analyze various reports of a financial nature that require the selection and interpretation of data to staff, Foster School and University departments. Investigate any errors or discrepancies found in BARs and troubleshoot with various UW departments, students, customers & vendors.
9. Manage the Procard and CTA programs for the departments.
10. Oversee general accounting functions including purchase orders, accounts payable/receivable, process cash transmittal, travel reimbursement, processing JVs, and Tls.
Administrative and Database Management
1. Work within CRM (Radius) software system to handle invoicing, refunds, and related communications.
2. Assist in the hiring hourly staff for programs.
3. Assist and be a backup for Office Manager in their absence.
