The Treasury Office has an outstanding opportunity for an Assistant Treasurer. This position will lead the annual financial forecasting update, including preparing financial peer analysis and determining five-year debt capacity. This position will also have regular analytical assignments from the Vice President of Finance and Associate Vice President of Treasury to support financial decision-making.
This position interacts with all levels of the campus community, and requires strong analytical abilities, strong interpersonal skills and the capacity to work with complex financial information. The ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively is essential. The position requires independent judgement and the ability to clearly organize and present data. Comprehensive knowledge of University financial forecasting, University operations and accounting, project management, financial statements, and the inter-relationship of University finances is preferred. This position is responsible for creating and maintaining critical financial models for the Treasury Office on behalf of the University.
Major Duties & Responsibilities:
Lead and maintain the institutional financial forecast
•Gather data from campus units (Office of Planning and Budgeting, Medicine, Office of Research, etc.) and seek ways to streamline data collection
•Manage relationship with provider (PFM)
•Consider integration of forecast with Workday planning, lead efforts to integrate the forecast into new ERP system
•Develop an annual assessment of actual institutional performance vs. projections
•Prepare ad-hoc reports and present to management
•Develop best practices/procedures for development of institutional financial forecast
• Actively seek ways to best utilize the forecasting tool
•Prepare financial forecast annual report including data visualizations
Maintain projected financial performance metrics for senior leadership decision-making and Board of Regents reporting
•Balance sheet and income statement metrics
•Financial dashboards
•Credit rating agency metrics for future years
•Coordinate and assist as necessary on financial ratios derived from actual results
Work with VP Finance, Treasurer and other senior finance leaders to develop financial models, forecasts and analysis.

•Real estate analysis
Develop peer relationships across the higher education sector to support best practices in financial forecasting and analysis Provide periodic support to other Treasury teams.
•Assistance with debt issuance process
•Internal lending program analysis and support
•Assistance with cash forecasting effort
•Assistance with integrating a Treasury workstation into Workday (as appropriate)
•Support for upcoming Finance Transformation effort / either direct project support or assisting with analytical backfill for other Treasury staff
•Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:
•BA in Business Administration, Economics or related field. Relevant work experience can substitute for type of degree.
•6-8 years of experience Ability to create and maintain financial models in Excel
•Detail oriented with strong analytical skills including the ability to work with, synthesize, and summarize complex data
•Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline driven work environment
•Experience handling multiple concurrent projects; ability to manage multiple priorities in a highly dynamic environment Excellent communication and presentation skills
Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except where there are legal requirements such as license/certification/registration.
