UW Continuum College (UWC²) expands the reach of the University of Washington with programs like UW Professional & Continuing Education, International & English Language Programs, Summer Youth and the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at the UW that meet the needs of various learners at all phases of their lives. We’re focused on removing obstacles to relevant educational opportunities by addressing geographic, financial, length of commitment and time constraints, increasing access to knowledge for more people. As a diverse community that values inclusivity and collaboration, we foster a respectful, supportive workplace where innovation comes to life. By looking ahead and experimenting with new approaches, we’re creating new educational opportunities to help people thrive in a world of change.
UWC² has an outstanding opportunity for an Assistant Vice Provost for our Advanced Online Learning Solutions team.
This position will initially draw on the deep expertise and resources in UW Continuum College but will build a staff dedicated to providing new, fully online UW degree programs on an unmatched level of program management support. After a period of initial investment, the unit will be expected to self-sustain off of the revenue generated by the programs it serves.
To become a world-class online operation, one early task will be to develop an Advanced Learning Solutions team that expands current excellent instructional design and video capabilities offered through UW Continuum College. Examples of these capabilities include: motion graphics, simulations, mobile, and new learning platforms.
While UW Continuum College Marketing and Enrollment Services will provide most initial marketing services, the unit will have its own dedicated marketing manager to maintain high campus partner support. Similarly, the Finance and Budget team will support the unit but a dedicated financial liaison will be a team member. These functions will evolve as the unit grows.
A small research team will also be housed in UWC². The research team will initially monitor program quality, retention, and other metrics but will evolve to be a collaborative hub for faculty interested in online learning research, grant opportunities, and entrepreneurial innovations.
