The “New Burke” is a groundbreaking museum of natural history and culture that inspires wonder and pride about the Northwest and our place in the world. The New Burke will turn the museum inside-out–allowing visitors to see into the labs, collection storage and workrooms–and connect with new discoveries seven days a week.
The Biology Collections Interpreter will engage with visitors and help communicate the work that takes place in the Burke Museum’s Biology labs, workrooms, and collections spaces. They will activate public-viewable workspaces with collections-related curatorial activities, biological research, and biologically-oriented educational material by coordinating with curators and collections managers from mammalogy, ornithology, herpetology, botany, invertebrate zoology, mycology, ichthyology, and genetic resources.
This position will require regular work on weekends, holidays, and evenings in support of museum events and peak visitation times.
