ITHS (Institute of Translational Health Sciences) is a $70M health research institute based at the University of Washington, with integrated partnerships with Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center and Seattle Children’s Hospital, and more than 20 other organizations engaged in health research in five states in the Pacific Northwest region. ITHS is funded by the National Institutes of Health along with 50 other hubs across the U.S. The mission of ITHS is to accelerate the translation of scientific discoveries to the clinic and beyond to improve the health of people in our region today. We develop critical resources to help innovators move their discoveries forward. ITHS fosters innovative health research, sustains research resources, and provides education and career development programs.
The CBS (Center for Biomedical Statistics) is a small group of biostatisticians who offer short-term consultation, long-term collaboration, guidance on study design, and data analyses for research projects spanning a wide range of topics. The CBS is actively engaged with numerous investigators supporting collaborative projects in the areas of anesthesiology, dentistry, health services, nephrology, neonatology, nursing, orthopedics, radiology, rehabilitation medicine, surgery, and urology. In addition to providing biostatistics support for these projects, the CBS also develops and supports systems for prospective data collection and study management.
