UWC² has an outstanding opportunity for a Budget Analyst on the UWC² Finance team, which is located in UWC² Administrative Services. UWC² Finance is responsible for supporting hundreds of academic and self-sustaining budgets across a wide range of program types.
The Budget Analyst will provide financial analysis and recommendations, which are used for decision-making by senior leadership within the schools and UWC² management. They will perform professional budget analyses to compile and interpret fiscal data used in the development and monitoring of the UWC² internal budgets. Participate in the preparation of the institution's biennial budget requests, and prepare complex automated and/or manual reports. This position will also create and implement financial modeling and data analysis for fee-based degree programs and continuing education certificate programs.
Duties and Responsibilities
BUDGET ANALYSIS
o Participates in discussions with other analysts, program management staff and senior leadership regarding the interpretation of data.
o Creates and analyzes financial statements, such as P&L and Budget Vs Actual. Requires familiarity with Excel and accounting systems.
o Reviews budget-to-actual with program management staff and follows-up on open issues.
o Manages the quarterly administrative charges, which, includes analysis and generating of the journal vouchers
o Ensures accuracy, integrity and availability of data.
o Reconciles month-end transactions between UWC² and the University’s accounting systems, and suspense and operating accounts as assigned.
o Review activity for accuracy and completeness.
o Reconciliation of General Ledger activity
CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT
o Initiates new processes and provides training support to academic program managers.
o Supports the Finance Department mission for continuous improvement.
o Functions within a team environment, recommends process improvement strategies, and adjusts to the needs of the business by accepting additional finance-related responsibilities as needed.

Required
A Bachelor's Degree with major study in accounting, business administration, or related field and two years of work experience as a Fiscal Specialist, or equivalent combination of education/experience.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
6-12 months experience to include:
o Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Excel including the ability to design and build from scratch relatively complex calculation models, linking to other spreadsheet files, and the ability to format and document spreadsheets in a user-friendly, logical manner.
o Demonstrated ability to analyze, interpret and explain financial results, and to formulate and implement process improvements.
Desired
o Evidence of continuing education in Finance, Accounting and/or business fields.
o Proficiency with Microsoft SQL Server
o Demonstrated progress toward CPA designation.
Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except where there are legal requirements such as license/certification/registration.
